Murdoch Has Tricked A Legion of Rubes Using FOX News

I decided a post I made in another thread might serve well as the basis for a new thread because I suspect very few people know this about Murdoch and FOX, specifically...

....Murdoch's massive investments in Muslim media and vice versa -- the Arab world's massive investments in FOX.

I lay the mass hysteria of the Right firmly at the feet of Rupert Murdoch, who in my view has used FOX to manipulate America's low information Christians into a wild mob of Islamophobes who now see plots to install Sharia law around every corner. Its given birth to crazies like Michelle Bachmann who, along with FOX, now has many of these same viewers believing the Muslim Brotherhood has a foothold in our State Department.

....and here's the irony, Murdoch is a foreigner and money is his only god. He lays in bed with whomever makes him richest. If that means duping poorly educated American Christians, hey, why not. Murdoch is a 50/50 partner with a major Arab media outlet called Sky Arabia...you know, those Muslims. Murdoch in the Middle East. Does this surprise any of you FOX News followers? Well, it gets worse.

News Corp's (FOX News's parent company) second largest investor after Murdoch is the Saudi prince Bin Tahal. Remember, the 9/11 terrorists were Saudis and the Saudi royal family (which is the government of Saudi Aradia) is the single biggest funder of the madrasas that educate young men in the Wahhabi version of Islam -- its arguably most radical sect from which Osama Bin Laden (himself a minor Saudi royal) and his sort have come. I am curious, upon learning this, what his loyal legion of Sharia-fearing FOX "patriots" have to say.

Here is an interesting bit from the linked article:

...It remains unclear if Sky Arabia will receive the similar accolades seeing that its website claims it will be an “Arab voice” that will “shine a light on the Arab world from the Arab world.”

Ironically Murdoch’s prime American television outlet, Fox News, has managed to do quite the opposite, not only alienating Middle East viewers but vilifying Murdoch’s very own Arab business partners.

Of course, FOX being FOX, it can't help making a fool of itself:

During a 2010 episode of the banter-heaving program, Fox and Friends, the Saudi Prince Bin Talal, who is the largest shareholder in News Corporation outside the Murdoch family, was dubbed “a guy that funds radical madrasas all over the world,” by Fox contributor Dan Seener, a former advisor to George W. Bush.

The episode was famously ridiculed by Daily Show host John Stewart, who wondered if Fox was either “really evil” for failing to mention Bin Talal by name-- because doing so could dilute their “fear-driven narrative”--or “just really stupid” for not knowing that the purported “terror funder” was actually part owner of Fox’s parent company.

Quite the magic act on Murdoch's part really if you think about it, carefully trick millions of American simpletons, indoctrinating near 1/2 of them into basically cultish irrationality to hate "the Other" while being the western world's single biggest investor in Muslim media. Really it is an amazing feat Murdoch has pulled of, playing 1/2 our population for complete fools and pitting them against the other 1/2 of their fellow Americans. And his work is so complete that even this knowledge would not cause a one of them to turn the channel or think of themselves as having been one of Murdoch's rubes. No doubt he is training the other side to hate at least as well. Murdoch is basically playing a god, moving his little American pawns on one side and his Arab pawns on the other. Yes, FOX viewers, that is you, the hapless little pawns being tossed about while you love every minute of it, cheer your own manipulation on even. "Please master, f with me more! I'll believe whatever you want me to believe! Obama is a Muslim Kenyan socialist! Yes master, Obama is a Muslim Kenyan socialist!"

Astonishing.

It will be interesting to see how Sky Arabia spins it's commentary to it's viewers.

Reading the article you linked to, it seems that no channel has a large viewership but if Murdoch plays to the fears and false patriotism as he does here, and the U.K. I'm sure it will bring in the ratings.

War and conflict is good for business, it brings viewers. The more viewers, the more you can charge for advertizing. Sky Arabia can run at a loss if it stirs up the locals and Fox can report on it with "Breaking News".

I'd like to hear from FOX acolytes, whether they think it discredits any FOX messaging and how they take to being played.

...and not a peep from the FOX followers who are terrified of Muslims and convinced Sharia law is an existential threat. I guess they are having a hard time processing this information.

"Low information Christians?"
"Simpletons?"
Let's see... I say those who think they know everything... Know nothing at all.

Yes, I used provocative words. "Low information Christians," as opposed to informed Christians. "Simpletons," as opposed to critical thinkers who reject sound bites. Anecdotal experience tells me FOX viewers are overwhelmingly people who identify themselves as "Christian." And if you are Christian AND a FOX viewer, you are likely Right wing. If you are Right wing, there is a very good chance FOX has taught you things that are not facts...ergo, you don't have accurate information...ergo, you are a low information Christian.

There are a great many Christians who are factually informed. But these are likely to be center or left Christians. They are not FOX viewers.

So are you a FOX viewer? Do you buy into their manipulation of you to fear Muslims or do you believe you are not being played?

I thought that Muslim extremists were a threat long before Fox News was in existence. It might have had something to do with them shooting at the helicopter I was in over Lebanon in 1983. We were flying medevac after some car bombs wrecked a few Embassies.

I watch Fox when the NFL in on. The news programs are preaching to the choir. I prefer Morning Joe during the week. I like Mika
Her daddy scares the crap out of me though.

Radical Muslims are a problem. They stifle liberty, make women wear sheets over their heads, and kill you for converting. I call that barbaric. They think the US is barbaric, and we show it when we bomb villages and snipe people with drones.

Fox, ABC, NBC, they're all the same... In the dump.

Then you earned an opinion based on real experience that informs for you a justified prejudice. Based on your response, no way you could be a FOX drone, or a mindless consumer of soundbites across the board. Thanks for the post.
