Personally, if I want to watch the liberal media take the news and spin it to fit thier worldview I can do that every day on any one of multiple news stations.

LOL, did you conveniently ignore all the information in my OP that backed up the video?

I can post more if you like........ It's not spin when things are prettyyyyyyy much spot on.

Secular laws in this country keep the far-right christians

Sure doesn't stop them from influencing the law in the name of "family values" which is really Christianity...

I'd defend the Tea Party but really, people. What's the point? It's not like I'm going to change minds.

Let the hate-fest ensue!

Your rambling is completely indicative of what you KNOW the party to be.

in Anson, Texas it was illegal to have public dances until 1987 due to dancing being a sin.

And the Taliban just beheaded people for dancing. They are very similar, it's just a matter of degree.

The Tea Party is very relavent, very real, and is growing. If it weren't perceived as a threat, then the leftists wouldn't be demonising it so hard.

Oh, and, um, by the way, "Self Loathing Bunnies" is the name of my band.

Yes, it is a threat to ALL Americans. It is a fascist party, their leader could be Mussolini, but it's the Koch brothers. The Koch family actually got most of their wealth from Stalin, so they know fascism makes money,,,that's why they want to bring it to America.

You're fascist, don't want to admit it, so you try to demonize the people that attack your party. How about you actually debate it instead of throwing ad-hominems around? Because there is no way to defend fascism.

The Tea party is the modern day BUSINESS PLOT

The Business Plot was an alleged political conspiracy in 1933. Retired Marine Corps Major General Smedley Butler claimed that wealthy businessmen were plotting to create a fascist veterans' organization and use it in a coup d'état to overthrow United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt, with Butler as leader of that organization. In 1934, Butler testified to the Special Committee on Un-American Activities Congressional committee (the "McCormack-Dickstein Committee") on these claims.[1] In the opinion of the committee, these allegations were credible.[2] No one was prosecuted.

I'm not going to try and defend the tea party cause i don't support them but how can you say that they are equal to the taliban when they have taken no lives?

Not yet, they haven't. But make no mistake - a lot of those silly little men in their silly tricorn hats with their silly tea bags taped to them are just chomping at the bit, waiting for Civil War II to start. Hell, just read some of the violence-riddled rhetoric they shoot off about here on ATS. It's an insanely dangerous movement, no bones about it. It's a fringe, radical, political movement. Those are ALWAYS bad, no exceptions.

For the record, I've been called a Liberal on ATS so many times it quite hilarious. I'm no fan of Obama, or of the Democratic party anymore than I care for the Republicans. They're politicians, which in my eyes makes them less than dog poop.

I can see how personal responsibility, smaller government, less government can terrify so many.

Growin up and maintaining the rights to self-determine can be scary.

What you believe personally is not reality. That's like saying the Republican party is for freedom because I say so.

But whatever, ignore reality, live in your own little world.

Did you not want those who actually represent the Tea Party, to expound their views, or is this just a "bash the Tea Party thread"?

I mean really, the Thread tittle is sensationalized enough, to warrant ANY and all who want to talk about the Tea Party. Not to be self moderated, by the person who made the thread........

To actually have a member of the Tea Party speak on what we believe would be the antithesis of the meme that the left is trying to portray.

By having my OWN words disregaded, speaks more of themselves than it does of us.

I agree 100%

Being fiscally responsible is not a bad thing. Its the right thing. Unless fiscally irresponsible, is how some want it to be........

Oh for crying out loud. You don't know anything about the Tea Party and you are just parroting the same nonsense that Janet Napolitano and Nancy Pelosi were yelping about because the Tea Party is genuine opposition. Tea Party is antithesis to Obama socialism. It is the antithesis to Big govt. However, Tea Party(Taxed Enough Already) still has a learning curve and got fooled by the likes of Scott Brown.

Spoke, I would love for you to go to an actual Tea Party meeting and see for yourself what they are about. However, if you resonate with socialism and communism, the Tea Party is not for you. But they are not fascist.

Not to mention you used such sources as the Young Turks, a liberal outpost. Of course they are going to spin things a certain way.
Tea Partiers are not into blowing things up. All you have to do is compare the Tea Party rallies to an Occupy event. Where have we seen all the violence and clashing with police? All that happened with the Occupy movement, with the exception of a rare event or two where SEIU thugs attended a rally and beat up a black guy. That was in St. Louis. Another time some leftists showed up with some signs of Obama with a Hitler mustache.
Tea Party even had to clean up after the labor protests in Wisconsin. They cleaned up after liberal protesters at Washington. They always clean up their space after every rally.

Penndot is now offering free voter ids to people who do not have a drivers license or state id. All you need to bring is proof of address like a bill or something. The plot to keep minorities from voting has been foiled.

Another person who doesn't get the image of the Founding Fathers, the Constitution, and the Revolutionary War, much less the original Boston Tea Party. You poor dear, you have missed out on American History. I'm sure it must be at the hands of liberal revisionist attempts to keep the reason for the Revolutionary War away from those who might actually want to follow in their footsteps, or perhaps you came here from somewhere else and you just never got it.

The tri-cornered hats were worn by American Patriots in the war and it is for that reason the Tea Party likes to wear them.
Gee I even saw a pic of Obama once wearing a full blown colonial outfit in a parade. In fact he was quite the handsome fellow in it. Alas, his admin has tossed the modern day Tea Party into the trash bin after Pelosi and Napolitano declared them to be a threat.
