Could this be an upside down funnel cloud or invert cyclone? I can't make it any better maybe you can enhance the photo better. I have put a red ring around the area for you to see.

More than likely its a jet trail above the clouds.

If that is the case why does it not continue on the photo? I thought jet trails are long not short like this one. Thank you for commenting and I'm keen to hear your views

Not all jet trails go on and on, somewhere they just stop.

Looking close, seems to be maybe a rogue lightning strike in the distance...it happens sometimes out of the blue.

Castellanus clouds also come in Altocumulus.

I can see that you like to belittle people. I maybe not as smart as you but I don't go round bullying other people's posts. I do know what a tornado looks like thank you and I just thought MAYBE it was an inverted cyclone as I've never seen that before up so high. You are correct for one thing, I don't get out as I'm house bound due to my panic attacks. I think you need to find peace in your life maybe then you will be a nicer person. Thank you to others who have given their contribution and haven't attacked me.

The first thing I always think of when I see some random picture of the clouds is what were you trying to make a picture of? Did you see this before you made it picture? Did it linger there? A little more info on the background of the image would be nice...other than..here's a pic..what's this.

Thank you Collietta for finding out what that hair line was coming from the top of the cloud.

Yes it did linger up there till other clouds hid it. I was looking at the clouds and saw a stream coming from the cloud in a vertical line so I decided to photograph it on my galaxy s3. Next time I won't bother posting if I'm going to be attacked.

I wasn't attacking you. I was just trying to get some more info on what was going on when you made the picture. I am gonna have to go with a contrail from a jet on this one. It either gets lost in the rest of the clouds, or the upper level winds dissipated the trail further on where you can see in the distance.
