Muammar Gaddafi was born 7 June 1942 in Qasr Abu Hadi, a rural farming area located just outside the town of Sirte in western Libya. He was raised in a Bedouin tent in the Libyan desert near Sirte. According to many biographies, he came from an Arab tribal family called the al-Qadhafah. At the time of his birth, Libya was an Italian colony.

At age 27, Qaddafi had become the ruler of Libya. On 2 March 1977, the GPC, at Gaddafi's behest, adopted the "Declaration of the Establishment of the People's Authority" and proclaimed the Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya.

From 1977 onward, the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya officially declared itself to be a direct democracy state in which the people ruled themselves through local popular councils and communes, named Basic People's Congresses, where all adult Libyans were allowed to participate and vote on national decisions. These people's congresses were, in principle, the country's highest authority, with major decisions proposed by government officials or Gaddafi himself requiring the consent of the people's congresses.

In 2008 a meeting of traditional African rulers bestowed on him the title "King of Kings". A leading advocate for a United States of Africa, he served as Chairperson of the African Union (AU) from 2 February 2009 to 31 January 2010

Reminds me of this thread: www.abovetopsecret.com...

I won't pretend like I know all about Libya's history or how the country is/was run..

However, I have seen conflicting messages from Libyans saying he really was a tyrant who oppressed his people..

But just like the points you raised, I assume there were a lot of things that Gaddafi did that benefitted Libya.

I had seen this video before and was planning to check further into it because the claims
were remarkable...but I let time pass, and then the point was moot.

I've always felt uneasy about the Libya situation, even from a long time ago before I
became political.

If you only take the point of view of the video, it becomes numbingly clear that TPTB
didn't like the money situation in Libya (of which they had no control) and they moved
to change it from the inside out.

On the other hand, how do you even begin to get angry with a such a pro-citizen oriented
government....much less move to overthrow them.

We Americans have all the guns and all the hard-core rednecks and we can't even all agree
to do much more about our rising fascist state than occupy Wall Street or less....???

I am from middle east, the only problematic leaders truly are just in Iraq and the worst one is in Iran.

Iraq got Saddam which he's now gone

but as for Iran the president is just a fake decoy because the worst one is the religious Mullah

Iran wants to take over arabian countries and pretty much obssesed that they actually started a war in Saudi Arabia during the 70s and 80s

the Shias started to stir up trouble in working for Iran . if you look at Iran they have more oil then any arab country but they prefered to act up looking poor , 100 percent of finance the have

30% is for the people, roads, building and economy that is need

70% finance is sent to the others in making sure they do dirty deeds such as targeting the smart , rich, decent , strong and respected people

they target them they they give them drugs to make sure they're addicted and there is a point where they're being found dead.

this youtube video shows how they're connected to everything in taking over middle eastern arab countries or personel agenda

www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbHR5-_fXNw

Furthermore

you ever notice how many kids in iraq get better weapons than the adults ? who do u think tricked and gave them ?

you ever noticed that Afghanistan country is next to the sea and the american military interedt iraq through permission by Pakistan ?

but does'nt Pakistan hate usa ? why would they give them permission to enter through ? Iran and Pakistan are allies and Pakistan tricked american military and ofcourse spying and looking at every move you guys make .

Iran want taliban down so they could take over

Ever hear of something called Kent state? Where our military brutally murdered protestors? Most of what we heard about him was nothing but propaganda and the dumbed down American public lapped it up like a dog.

I like the quotes in your signature... very relevant

A question to all, Do we know where Libya's gold has gone yet? Surely TPTB wouldn't have left it in the country for the 'rebels' to possess.... or was the sole purpose to remove Gadaffi to disallow selling oil for gold? Didn't Libya's reserves hold 144 tons? (I've watched the video months ago but can't remember if the location of the gold was mentioned....)

And of course someone in this thread spewing hate about Iran because they are obviously too uneducated but think they are an expert because they live in the region...

Look up how Ahmadinejad lives please, look up what car he still drives please, look up how he refuses wealth even though he can take it if he want it, PLEASE. This is a good man being portrayed as a horrible being, what's worse is that he is on OUR side, listen to his speeches, do me a favor, he keeps trying to warn everyone of the global conspiracy, how they want to do to him what they did to Kadhaffi... This is an independent sovereign and a thorn in the eye of TPTB who, we all know, want control of every nation. Is it really surprising that the only "enemies" are also the ones that still decide what they do instead of being guided by the UN etc..? To get rid of sovereign nations you must first rid of the leaders that refuse to give up said sovereignty.

You know, Ahmadinejad even said he doesn't believe in the use or ownership of nuclear weapons, and he is right. He gave a logical explanation that would make sense to any human being had they not been blinded by the lies and propaganda. He is fully aware that owning nuclear weapons does nothing positive and that it is a threat to mankind...

I believe it, all of it. I remember seeing the video of him holdin it down before he was assassinated by the West (yea, i went there).

He was crowned King of Kings by the Africans. AND ya man was the leader of the UN at one point. Gaddafi knew the deal because he had to fight and claw his way to where he was, he wasn't want going to make the same mistake that was made in the West, his Green Book, which is a great read btw.

But him.. it's why it will all fall down. Just wait and see. Once those Libyans get pissed, it's a wrap. And they are stewin now.

In their pockets! Just like all this money he supposedly laundered away. No one bothered to ask him anything and those banks didn't raise any eyebrows at the amount of cash that was in their vaults?

What they did with him is a lesson to those smaller countries that don't have connects. We'll come after you if you don't get down with our program.

Too bad nothing like that will work with say, North Korea.

I know

Now Libya is about $2 Billion in debt, unemployment at 30% and about 1/3 live below the poverty line. www.cia.gov...

It has been so sad watching all the media lies and distortions as it was going down. What the hell are we fighting for? It does look like some of the lessons have been learnt with Syria and Iran in line for the same fate. I just get so depressed when looking at the example our leaders are setting. I don't want to have to be mean and brutal to get anywhere in life.

Don't worry, he's the type that gets foolish pride out of knowing stuff first. He'd be yelling "Haha I was first!" if he could, but a more subtle approach worked equally well for him I guess.

I'm curious how many stuff OP knows that stinky over here hasn't heard of yet
Should probably be rubbing it in his face as well, you know, feeding the ego like him. The bigger the ego, the more it needs to represent itself through, among other things, bragging (about being faster, better, smarter,...) like is the case here
Mutually, bigger ego = lower self-esteem

The ego is like a rag paper, it needs things to happen in order to continue to exist, so it simply creates the things it needs to exist, the drama, the feeling that one is better, smarter,..., otherwise, it simply wouldn't be there as there is no need for it to exist. Look into psychology, helps you deal with this kind of people, and when you can, try to educate them a bit, because helping other people rid themselves of the ego should be everyone's (who is informed) priority. It's what holds mankind back and keeps us in a primitive state where we only care about satisfying the ego (because it wants and needs us to, in order to exist). It's nothing but a self-sustaining and self-fulfilling "illusion" inside your head, observe it, look at what it's telling you, ask if it's true, if there is reason for it to be there, start breaking it down piece by piece, confront yourself with the fact that you are not your ego, if you were, you wouldn't be able to distance yourself from it

I really wish our economic system was like that.

I'm sick and tired of fighting for everything and fighting everybody trying to take away everything I have.

That's what it seems like sometimes anyway.

But still suspect there's some sort of catch to that kind of system. There always is, and usually that kind of system forces people to give up their money and property in order to be able to do that.

If there was an economic system mixed with capitalism that would do that, it could possibly be the perfect system.

As it stands now the big corporations only care about looting America and taking everything away from the citizens.

You are offering an alternative point of view that is different from the mainstream media, threatening my ego as well as all of my deeply held firmly planted beliefs, challenging my world view, and threatening to bring everything I thought I knew crashing down around me!!!

AGHHHH!!!

I LOVE IT!!!!
Thank you.
I relish the times when I can have everything I thought I knew challenged.
Makes me realize that I MIGHT NOT know it all.
