This is a big deal... and now we have to look at how over reaching our government really is to let an slip up happen like this.. Chong was doing drugs, yes. He was arrested at a party, but thats not the point... The kid is 23, he had to drink his own urine to survive! His kidney's LITTERALLY shut down!!!!

What do we do? People are saying "he deserved it!" What if they were YOUR kids...

If this was my kid... I would start a movement... The DEA responded trying to justify themselves it makes me sick

Several hours after Obama’s drug czar told a room filled with Democratic power brokers at the Center for American Progress that the “war on drugs” was over, 23-year-old Daniel Chong sat down with NBC San Diego to recount the five days he spent handcuffed in a DEA holding cell without food or water after he was arrested at a "4/20 party." During that period, Chong, a student at UC San Diego, was forced to drink his own urine because his cries for help, for water, and for food went ignored, or perhaps unheard, by DEA agents. By the third day, Chong said he was hallucinating. He tried to kill himself by breaking the lens of his glasses, cutting his wrists, and then swallowing the shards.

A 420 party? That doesn't sound like a "hard drugs" party.

So the DEA feels doing this to someone is far better than what 420 parties are doing to someone? This is the treatment they inflict on someone making a free will choice to do with their body what they want? Considering today's culture, it's hard for a 23yr old to know better, but this is domestic terrorism at it's finest.

Well whats worse, he was supposed to be released and instead... the official story said they "forgot he was in the cell"

What would have happened if he wasn't an asian kid but a black kid?

How fast would jesse jackson and al sharpton be out there protesting?

The people who say "he deserved it" are some other species. They have to be.

It's like no matter what there is a certain segment of the population that honestly believes if a cop is talking to you you deserve to die.

They frighten me. Not because they exist but because they seem to have so much political clout and control.

There is no excuse for this kid to have been forgotten. How do you forget someone is locked up in there? What a nightmare for that poor kid to have gone through.

After about 3 hours, I would've been making a lot of noise in that cell.
After 5 days, I'm sure he made enough noise begging for food and water to make it quite impossible to be "forgotten", unless the cops weren't in the same building as the cell he was in, which I doubt.

The DEA and other alphabet agencies are illegal unlawful cabals with no jurisdiction in the states but an ignorant populace and sheriffs allow this crap to continue. All Sheriffs should evict the DEA IRS and DHS etc. from their counties! Won't happen though because they are ignorant and taking federal bribes to allow these thugs to operate.

God I can't wait for the monetary system to collapse much as I will regret the consequences of it, but the stench is just getting overwhelming in this country.

Regardless of what he had supposedly done, leaving him without water for 5 days is not just torture, it is attempted murder. It is pretty much literally a miracle he survived.

Something in the article confused me..

Chong said he lost roughly 15 pounds during the time he was alone. His lawyer confirmed that Chong ingested a powdery substance found inside the cell. Later testing revealed the substance was methamphetamine.

Why did he have meth in the cell? Was it planted there by the DEA? Did he smuggle it in? I'm not sure which would be more disturbing. I mean if this guy can get arrested by the DEA, searched, booked, and placed in a holding cell with meth in his pockets, what else is the DEA missing when they search people?

If the DEA planted the meth in his cell, then why? Hoping he would OD? Planting evidence? They're just jerks?

Nothing about this article makes any sense.

When they put you in the hole in prison, they still have to feed you and give you water once a day. This was criminal behavior by the government. If you kept someone confined for five days without giving them food or water, you would be charged with many crimes; kidnapping, unlawful confinement, possibly attempted murder, failing to provide the basic necessities of life and so on. Is this the kind of power the NDAA gives the gov now? Deplorable.

This is the bloody glove in the whole story...

Exactly... Why....

This is desperation or collusion to discredit him I think

He tried to carve "sorry mom" into his arm with his glasses!!!!

This is how desperate the situation was!

It's nice to see you bringing our attention to a topic like this, thank-you.
I refuse to believe this kid was just forgotten about, that just doesn't happen. Psychopaths ensuring our safety from bad guys like this kid...this is just awful.

Oh yeah theres something stinky here...

Why didn't they search him before he went into the cell??? I mean if they didn't...

There's a lot of questions here....

I'm glad he filed a lawsuit.. I really hope this story picks up some steam, this is an atrocity

What a disgrace...abnormal...inhuman...disgusting.

The moral high ground is ever dwindling for you guys. The biggest threat to America's National Security would be its treatment of its own people. Now with the internet age, these wrongdoings are broadcast to every corner of the Earth. Do the hotshots in the military and Pentagon feel that this will do the image, and so the treatment, of Americans any good in foreign countries? After all, torture there...torture here...what's the difference?!

Crazy! Have been following this in the San Diego paper. Some DEA heads need to roll....doubtful though.

Huge lawsuit coming...i doubt he'll have to worry about student loans in the future.

This can be considered inhumane treatment and or torture. This is very big, but it also wasn't "just a 4/20".

Chong and eight others were arrested at a party where DEA agents seized "18,000 ecstasy pills, marijuana, hallucinogenic mushrooms, a Russian rifle, two handguns and thousands of rounds of ammunition."

For those of you who didn't read the entire article.

Sounds like a regular week at a prison in China...
... oh wait.. we're not in China?

I've only heard of this kind of horror ... maybe from Guantanamo Bay or... a Communist ran prison in China.

As fast as they could buy the plane tickets. They'd be on TV even before that.

The DEA are a bunch of thugs. My own 23 year old son is currently being held by the feds. It has been an eye opener for sure.
