Women will shorten your lifespan.
That is why men invented porn.

I could do that if it was within my means.
Peace ,no dogs,no women,no kids.
As long as I had wifi and a laptop.

One can always build a floating island of one's own .

I admit that this guys location is a gem .

Some people prefer to live on a small island .

This was one smart move on his part , I bet he enjoyed his life .

I am actually fairly comfortable right where I am.

in 10 years, i'm not so certain, but for now....cheers

I always wanted my own island, just imagine the view and how serene it would be without all the dogs, people, cars etc. Most creature comforts like internet, TV, phones etc won't be missed once you break your habit.

Now if only I could find a place that sells islands with no property tax etc so you could literally be free and only have to work for yourself.

It's all good till the tsunami comes along and wipes everything away.

Oh well, it was nice to dream.

I have been dreaming of this very existence since I was seven years old. I am SO envious of this guy...

All the power to him and I am glad someone had the opportunity to do this.

Great post OP.

Not sure if I can agree about an island without women, but I can CERTAINLY do without any ANNOYING little brat kids around!

An island having minimally clothed attractive women walking about, whom had their tubes tied (to prevent little annoying brat kids from being born LOL), and not having to pay any DAMNED PROPERTY TAXES, or SLAVE for 'the man' all your life = HEAVEN on earth....

...well, maybe just one more thing... perhaps a bunch of muzzles for the island women so that I dont have to listen to them BLAB ON AND ON sometimes. Cant forget the MUZZLES for the women in paradise!!

I need to rephrase my comment.
I love women.
But,to be alone on an island with NO people, refreshing.
Didn't mean to offend the ladies.

hmm... ain't those there.. PIRATE waters?

Yeah.. that's Somalian piracy waters there... I guess the other thing you'd need is your own coast guard... just buy some drones to patrol it.. oh yeah and a Dr Evil style underwater cave for all your goodies...

If you could afford the island, shelter, solar panels, water filtration system, generators, and supply boats to bring your mail, gasoline, and stuff you purchased while online shopping....yep it'd be great.

That is a very lucky man. I wish I lived in an island to live a better Life. To get away from the system and all the other corruption. It would also give me the moment to appreciate nature and bond with it. Eating your own home grown food and living Life to the fullest without the need a of a television to watch all day.
If I had an island, it would have plenty of women!

He sure does look healthy for his age and definitly looks 50. He sure is one lucky man to have his own little Island to call his own.

Jee, I wonder why.

Maybe it has to do with him growing his own food? And not buying imported goods like the rest of us. God knows what's wrong with the food we buy and the things we drink. Wish I could explain this better, but I can't. But I think you all get my point.

We all could live like this in our own neighborhoods if we didn't have government. Just a thought!

Why would you even want the distractions of modern life if you had your own private island? Besides, you wouldn't have time for the internet, having to grow/catch your own food, build your own home, and so on.

It would be SO EFFING GLORIOUS!!!!

In case anyone was wondering, there are still islands for sale today but nothing like this at price. Something like that would go well into the millions.

People will not give up their current lifestyle to live a better life.
That s why there is absolutely no hope for civilization.

It's a shame most people don't know there is a real world out there with endless possibilities.
Stuck in a very, very small circle called your life with no hope of breaking out.

I would give it all up in a heartbeat for a life like that if I could afford to buy an island.

I just can't help think Man With The Golden Gun (an old Bond or 007 movie featuring an assassin who lived on an island with solar panels, scary laser machine, dwarf man-servant and 3 nipples, along with a gun made of pure gold...) when I hear the word Island in this sort of context. The linked article said he was 86 if memory serves and I think he looks good and happy for his age in any case.
