Trayvons mom says it was an accident

Trayvon Martin's mom Sybrina Fulton said in an interview on the "Today" show Thursday that she believes it was "an accident" that George Zimmerman shot and killed her son in Sanford, Fla., on Feb. 26.

"I believe it was an accident," Fulton said. "I believe that it just got out of control, and he couldn't turn the clock back. I would ask him, did he know that that was a minor, that that was a teenager and that he did not have a weapon? I would ask him that I understand that his family is hurting, but think about our family that lost our teenage son. I mean, it's just very difficult to live with day in and day out. I'm sure his parents can pick up the phone and call him, but we can't pick up the phone and call Trayvon anymore."

I thought the mother had prayed for justice?

if it was an accident...

I put this here because this is where all the non-conspiracy related articles on this go...

I can only offer speculation, which is not conspiracy

She knows something

My opinion (and speculation)the special prosecutor is playing games with justice

they know a jury pool is heavily polluted
a lot of people have come out and found the alleged guilty already

even the judge has heard of it

so now it is a numbers game with an ethics check on the judge and jury members. The special prosecutor is gambling on failure of at least one of these ethics checks

I considered this voicing quite odd...

Being a Mother myself...I see it as a Mother who has lost a son. Expressing her true feelings. No conspiracy, no agenda...her real feelings on this tragic event. My heart goes out to her.

You may very well be right Rip... personally, I'm hoping this is a mother who has suffered the ultimate loss, the loss of her child.

Mothers are wonderful people who seem to be able to see thru the chaos and confusion often caused by others.

Here, the MSM and all others who have vicously and intentionally stirred the pot of racism in which the true fact of her child being killed is almost lost to the world should hang their collective heads in shame and apologies.

So many have attempted to make gain by this mother's loss.

As a son I also know that my mother does not know everything about me.... I am a very private person...

It struck me as odd because someone killed my child and I pray for vengeance, forgives is not on the list... the grief process is still going on to early imho for forgiveness stage

You deserve applause for it...

I havent forgotten that two lives ended that day...

one can never be brought back the other is close to gone

the one that can never be brought back should be studied to see what factors and metrics existed that lead to the demise....

either way good post and congrats on your horse sense

I think this mother knows that her son was no angel. My youngest daughter was a wild child as a teenager (it was so bad we had to seal her bedroom windows shut to keep her from sneaking out, and put loud alarms on the front and back doors). Trayvon's mother probably knew her son attacked (he may have had a history of physical altercations), and although she is grieving terribly, she is at least cognizant enough to admit that it was an accidental situation that got completely out of control. For that I commend her.

She may also be calling for everybody to calm down and not contemplate violence over this issue, in her own way.

Really! What does that have to do with a teen walking home from a convenience store?

He was minding his own business - - just walking home.

And as far as - - wild childs - - Oh yeah - - I live in a beach area not too far from Hollywood CA. What does that have to do with anything?

Thank you Rip... but unfortunately it appears I was wrong about the mother... still, one young life was lost forever and another might be destroyed.
I hope for the truth.

During conversations with my son I explained this way...

Its called hunting

Then odds, math

Like grandmas scratch offs- its called statistics

I told him social interactions/reading... you walk into a room and try to guess what they are thinking

well combine all of these...

Now add in a parent who is a little busy and not watching or influencing there kids
(yes I went there! )

spells potential for disaster

You do your best to prevent those things you can. I also let him read all my heinlein and card books that that gave good advice on it (i even told a few to him as a child)

HE understood at 5... why on no sleep I would rather drive him to school rather then allow him to wait by himself to catch the bus... on a side note he used the same theories to reverse the odds on a bully three times...

Every Cop in america will tell you the simple truth.

Do your best not to make your self a victim? prevention and deterrence go a long way...
little things go miles

Few people have thought to ask these...

Why was TM walking in a neighborhood by himself dressed as he was with no escort?

according to most people, tm is not from the neighborhood

Or is he? (now the other point is if he is, was he the thief/burglar?)

Dont crawl on a highhorse anyone. I speak as a parent in preventing this, I care not for platitudes or opinions only results

Why did the police chief withdraw?

Not single answer makes sense

Why did two lawyers quit there case?

its kinda high profile, career maker...

(I know an attorney who defend a grand dragon then in less then five minutes defended a gang banger... I asked he said they both payed... I asked his black client.. "The legal dog there got that man off for being guilty, I figured for the right money he could do the same for me..."

Then the mother sounding like she is back tracking...

hello fix the comment when it comes out

so failure on parenting, epic level

I have a feeling they got to her...

You may have been right at first.... ( I think the next stage is anger)

and in that stage you might try for revenge

so no one gets the gumption to accuse me of being one sided...

I am also still trying to get to Z's tude and thoughts...

The best I got neutral is massive frustration...

the cops are not doing there jobs around America... i do remember saying earlier these incident would get worse and worse..

As cops remind people there job is not to protect or serve, I am not yet hating on the popo's just stating facts

(yet
)

and yes I can have two opinions on a single story because their can be more then one side to it...

only a moron believes the world is monochrome or even bi-chrome...

Like little jebus, wez multi cultural-
from southern center on multicultural acceptance indoctrination procedure

brought to you by the LiberalConservatism action committee on American Greatness

I raised my 2 daughters - - helped raise my now 18 year old grandson (who's dad chose drugs over him).

Am now raising a 4 year old grandson and 12 year old granddaughter.

I've had 3 generations of practice.

can i ask one the cold questions of you personally

What did TM's mother do wrong?
And do not worry we are all adults and the moderazi is watching all TM threads... please answer freely because tis I and not you who is being rude and bridging to this gap

(just so the ones reading know it is over an opinion over TM's mother)

I am not calling you on your experience but requesting your viewpoint from it

You're likely right... so many there are so many who only wish to make headlines for themselves (Jackson and Sharpton) and without question would antagonize the mother to 'get her back on track'...

Good thought Rip

Wrong about what? Raising her son? He seems pretty typical to me - - in this day and age.

I had the house everyone hung out at. Everyone called me Mom. When I run into one of them now - - they usually have to ask me my name - - because they never knew me as anything but Mom.

The ones in "my group" that were the trouble makers - - are successful business men today.

The quiet ones got wild after high school and getting away from their parents.

Trayvon's dad - - apparently stepped in and had Trayvon come stay with him after he got suspended.

They sound like very caring responsible parents to me. And Trayvon sounds like a typical teenage kid.
