New Iran missiles can reach London!

It seems that Iran has successfully test-fired a new long range " strategic missile" and have delivered it to their armed forces!

Weapons and itelligence analysts say the new missiles have the capability to reach London, Paris, Berlin, and southern Russia.

With help from the North Koreans, the missiles are believed to be the upgraded version of the Shihab-3.

The news comes shortly after Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards staged military maneuvers near the border with Iraq, seen as a signal to Washington Tehran is prepared to fight back against any attempts to prevent the development of a nuclear reactor that could be used to make weapons-grade plutonium.

Shamkhani last month said Iran was working on improvements to the range and accuracy of the Shihab-3 in response to Israel's moves to boost its anti-missile capability.

Today's announcement came days after Israel said it was buying from the United States about 5,000 smart bombs, including 500 one-ton bunker-busters that can destroy 6-feet-thick concrete walls.

With this kind of capability, the European continent may not be safe from harms way. Iran is still insisting on carrying on with it's nuclear program, despite the criticism from the West.

Scary, how long untill one can meet the US? Sooner then we think.

This is the first time I have heard of it reaching London. The Shihab 3 has a range of 800 miles, so to reach london would need a massive upgrade.

BBC is being koy about this and hasn't stated the range yet. Are there multiple reputable sources to confirm this?

Iran's Defense Ministry didn't give the missile's new range, but Israeli sources speaking in Jerusalem later said it was more than 1,200 miles, or about 400 miles longer than its previous range.

Ah, Israeli sources say it can travel 1,200 miles.


EDIT: Actually, even at that distance it couldn't hit London.
London is 2,734 miles from Tehran.

Paris is 2,616 miles from Tehran

Berlin is 2,178 miles from Tehran.

I wonder who is in range?

Two things:

IRAN CANNOT HIT LONDON - At most, the new variant they've tested could hit parts of Germany, not further, London is WAY out of range.

THE SOURCE CANNOT BE TRUSTED - WorldNetDaily just takes stories (sometimes word for word) from the regular services and pretends to twist them with their own "analysis" and "expert opinions". Rubbish. Just as bad as Debka or any number of those sites.

Iran is not going around invading countries.
Iran is not threatening to to attack other countries.
They are developing weapons to prevent their own country from being invaded by others.

I don't see what's wrong with that.

We spent 50 years in the range of nuclear-tipped Soviet missiles and never blinked. Let's not let our leaders get us worked up about another state with them. Deterrence and diplomacy have not disappeared overnight.
