As speculations over a possible strike on Iran's nuclear facilities grow, the Islamic Republic is exacerbating its rhetoric.

Deputy Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi on Friday warned Israel against mounting such an attack: "Any act by the Zionist regime against Iran will bring about its destruction.

Hezbollah, he added, "Is at the forefront of the fight against Israel and it is growing stronger by the day."

Speaking at a ceremony honoring past Hezbollah commanders, Vahidi said that "Israel is weaker than it has ever been and its army is tired and humiliated… This is why it is trying to solve its problems by talking about taking action against Iran. But these are ridiculous statements.



"Iran's warriors are ready and willing to wipe Israel off the map," he declared.

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi underlined Tehran's determination to provide all-out support for Lebanon against the foreign countries and terrorists' threats, and also stressed that the Lebanese Army should be reinvigorated to the same end.

"Strengthening the Lebanese Army is one of the strategic policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Lebanon should have a powerful Army to defend its interests in the region," Vahidi said in a meeting with his Lebanese counterpart Fayez Ghosn in Tehran on Sunday.

He described Ghosn's visit to Iran as a good opportunity for the expansion and development of defense cooperation with Lebanon, and said, "We consider Lebanon's stability and protection of its security an important constituent of regional stability."

In 2010, Vahidi had also underlined Tehran's preparedness to equip the Lebanese Army with the necessary military tools and weapons.

"If they (Lebanese) demand, the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to provide the country with their needed arms for defending Lebanon's borders," Vahidi said in an interview with the Arabic Language Al Alam network at the time.

"The Army of Lebanon is our friend and is in a region that is under the Zionist regime's pressure and threat," Vahidi noted.

Also, Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Qazanfar Roknabadi said in 2010 that Tehran is prepared to arm the Lebanese Army, and added, "If Lebanon officially calls for Iran's help to equip its army, Iran will feel honored to help Lebanon's army."

Since the occupation of the Quds city, Israel has been trying to change the identity of the city through different measures, including building illegal settlements for Israelis, eviction of Palestinians and demolition of their houses.

Do we have any proof that Iran even has a nuke? I don't think so. And if they have one at all, wouldn't it be rather stupid to use that one bomb on Israel knowing there will be retaliation that will result in a gaping whole on the map where Iran used to be? A silly notion, really.

Either they are bluffing to put fear in Israel, or this is a bunch of propaganda....once again.

I see more a warning being made that they are prepared to defend themselves. Apparently (possibly allegedly) the stuxnet worm was written by Israel Intel to deliberately target Iran's facilities and it apparently (possibly allegedly) did quite some damage. Then there was the talk of Iranian nuclear scientists being bombed, murdered, assassinated, whatever. Someone does seem to have it in for Iran lately....

Who is destroying Israel?? No one. That is the point. There was point to the Nazi's as far as War is concerned. The reason we got the Atom bomb had a lot to do with Nazi Scientists. The reason we have a lot of the Weaponry is because of Nazi Engineers. The Brain drain so to speak is in the Arab and Asian World now. Most of the higher Education in the US is dominated by Arabs and Asians. Not sure if you have noticed. Anyway, it may just be a secondary benefit besides the obvious, Oil, Religion, Land Grab, etc.

Frankly, I'm still waiting for someone to tell me what the hell any of this has to do with the U.S.? Seems that we just can't seem to keep our nose out of everything. These two have been threatening each other for years. Same sh**, different day.

Why doesn't a Country have the right to defend themselves?? How many sanctions does the US have against it?? How many threats from a Nation does the US have against it?? Iran, really?? Or Syria, or fill in the blank. The 1st Gulf War was in 90 for christ sake. How many more do they need?? Does no one remember why we got into the first gulf war to begin with. We TOLD Sadaam to go into Kuwait and gave him the Green Light. Than we were like "ohhh no, u cant do that" and bombed there entire Army into what did they call it, ohhh yeah "highway of death". I am so proud to be an American. Do we need another 600,00 or more civilian deaths on our hands??

A point well made NightGypsy... I agree and I personally don't believe Iran has a nuke either, unless they acquired it from another country.

And you are correct, Iran would have to be STUPID to bomb anyone as you point out, there will be a huge glow in the dark parking lot where Iran used to be... I do however raise you, it owuld be an insane notion...

What I truthfully fear is that Iran actually believes their own propoganda, i.e. their ability to destroy Israel, or anyone else for that matter... and I for one FEAR and believe the ones with their fingers on the trigger so to speak are just crazy enough to do it.
