This grandfather was holding his grandson. He was not in possession of a firearm BUT HE DID HAVE THEM IN HIS HOUSE they later discovered. Why do journalists go out of their way. Any logic, even minimal tells you that is irrelevant. Grandfather Shot While Holding Baby.
My apologies...it was 7 in a decade. He fancies himself a gunslinger, does he?

Officer Peters, who fired the fatal shot, has been involved in seven shootings over the past decade.

Six of those have been fatal, and all have been ruled justified.

Still, given how rare it is on average for an officer to draw a firearm let alone be involved in a shooting this cops amazingly high rate is worth investigating.

WOW, that is messed up, he was holding his grandson, making stupid remarks, when one of the police officers thought they saw a gun in his hand, and shot him in the head, What happened to interigators, so they just blast you the first chance the police get.

I think it still leans towards serial killer status but that was a great deal misleading. AZ might want to look at putting this guy on a desk or a cell. There are plenty lifelong officers out there who have never fired their weapon in the line of duty. Something in this persons psyche is putting him into these situations, and if it is not his liberal use of ammunition then it is still something psychological such as an inability to effectively communicate. Take his issue piece away and get him off the street this isn't Dexter.

What happened to the child!? What were they thinking firing a weapon towards an infant? Clear shot my eye they could have killed that baby directly by bad aim or indirectly by falling from grandpa's arms. I am shocked, even if he did have a gun wtf?

Get that cop off the streets! He should have been investigated by IA and never allowed past his 3rd shooting if even that. You would think that after 5 they would recognize a pattern...now 7 and this one with an infant in the line of fire? Good Lord.

DO NOT rush judgment. Whatever this man did:
1. warranted his neighbors calling the cops and
2. warranted THREE officers pulling sidearm’s.

This was obviously a serious situation and it is not up to us to judge, I don’t trust the mainstream media to report on the election and I certainly don’t trust them to shed anything but lies and deceit upon an officer doing his duty.

He is a sharpshooter, therefor not the average officer. So he will have a higher death rate then the average officer.

actually it is up to us to judge, we the people.

i can't find anything that would require shooting this man in the back of the head while holding an infant, just on suspicion of a gun. not while there were 3 officers present. they never bothered to surround him or in anyway verify a weapon, they took a very risky shot, which could have easily penetrated the infant.

gross negligence is sometimes easy to spot.

How can you possibly not understand that unarmed is unarmed. The only thing this man was carrying was his grandchild. At the very worst, he should been tackled and the child removed from his care. Frankly, I don't care what he was ranting about. There is is no such thing as lethel speech!

Most law officers don't fire that many rounds at a suspect in their entire careers.

Wouldn't a taser have been a more rational and safety-conscious choice given the man had a child in his arms?

I agree this cop needs a desk job.

I find it a little suspicious that there was only one shot fired and it was to the head. Sort of indicates to me that the officer was aware the baby wasn't a gun. At the same time, with only half the information I am going to hold off judgment. For all I know the grandfather was about to snap the babies neck.

Understood. However, MSN lies for the "establishment" not the plaebians. There propaganda is propagated in well-fertilized bovine discharge "but they did find guns later, in house."
What is awesome is, thanks to the work of people like here at ATS, people like sheeple are seeing thru the wool now. Ron Paul's number manipulations and the MSM fear is evident.

Seven shootings in a decade? That is sad reflection on society when most cops go their whole careers without firing a single shot...

Or perhaps that is a reflection on just this officer in question.

I know, right? I'd be proud to say I've never had to fire a shot if I were a police officer. I'd like to know more about this Officer Peters fellow. He's either been at the right place at the right time seven times, or he needs to be behind bars like yesterday.

Im getting good at this

1 The Grandfather made a threathening gesture towards the police.

2 The babies life was in question.

3 the Cop made the only shot available, no arms, legs were available.

4 The cop is being investigated by his superiors.

5 After a lenghty investigation,(12 hours) it is deemed a clean kill.

6 The cop is given a weeks paid vacation to recover from his Trauma.

7 Next.

That officer is TERRIFYINGLY TRIGGER HAPPY!!! This degenerate needs to be pulled off of the beat and given an office job at the station.

His firearm needs to be replaced with a pen or pencil. I imagine that if a proper non-biased outside investigation was conducted into his shootings, I would imagine he would have already had his butt placed in JAIL by now.

First of all let me say that I am trying to remain calm while typing this so of I stray from my point please forgive me.

Now with that being said I will start by saying that I am not anti-cop and support the rule of law, when the law is just. However I can't help but thing of something that Jefferson said during a speech to the first continental congress in Virginia in 1883, "Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law's because law is often the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual."

That is all our law enforcement officers (tyranny enforcement officers) have made a habit of doing for the last several decades.

It really pisses me off when I hear stories like this and think that I sacrificed 10 years of my life to serve this nation and suffered lifelong injuries as a result. IMHO 90% of these lowlife POS coward cops are a bunch of hypocritical tyrants. One thing I can say is that if this had been my father that this a$$hole killed I think I would have to give him the same chance of survival that he gave this man.

I am not saying that the man was innocent of committing a crime, but since when are cops the judge, jury, and EXECUTIONER? This officer is nothing more than a murderer.....shooting someone in the back of the head? I was under JSOC command in the service and was a "delivery specialist" in the service, I would deliver my target to their maker from up to 1500 meters away but never once did I shoot a target in the back......its the most dishonorable thing you can do and only a coward does s#@t like that.

One day the people will have enough and there will be a revolution in this country and when there is I hope evty coward a$$ cop that has done such as this one gets paid back.
