Year of the Dragon...Fiery Dragon??

ATSers...I thought I'd stir the pot and throw this out there:

Is there a correlation between 2012: The Year of the Dragon and Planet X/Nibiru/Wormwood aka the Fiery Dragon??

Not sure, who knows? Also it is the year of the water dragon, not fire dragon. Also not sure that has any significance at all. I bet it has none. I don´t put much stock in prophecies myself, unless it´s backed up by some hard evidence, or corelates with alot of other similar but unrelated prophecies.

I thought this year it was the year of the water dragon?
Am i wrong?

Don't the Mayans have the dragon with water flowing from his mouth to represent 2012? If I'm not mistaken it's from the exact translation that spelt out the Dec.21 2012 event.

It's gonna be a testing year..I feel this will not be the last of fuel for the 2012 fire from speculation based on %0 fact.

2012 is year of the water dragon. Also the dragon is the 'luckiest' of the Chinese zodiac hierarchy.

Hey! I didnt think about that till you just mentioned it. There is some water related issue on the long count that we're supposedly falling into that depicts a dragon loosing water upon the earth, but also the comming of those "gods" back to earth.

Care to link me to the exact translation? Also an explanation by the researcher detailing exactly how they calculated the Baktuns etc.?

I personally think talking about a fictional planet with no fact is also extremely childish...

There is no such thing associated with the Long Count. If I remember correctly the image you are referring to comes from the Dresden Codex which makes no mention of 13.0.0.0.0 whatsoever.

But he didnt base the post on Nibiru. It was one of the "possibles" in which he advised he did not take part in. It was an example of the examples that could be listed here.

Im not a specialist in this by any means. What I am refering to is a show I saw on discovery about the whole 2012 issue.

Specificly.. The host of the show was interviewing someone who displayed what was left of a depiction to show was to take place on this date. I figure it has something to do with the long count calender as it was brought up a million times when refering to this "moment" that was being depicted. A dragon along the side of the scroll with water comming from his mouth. The "gods" or what ever they were was supposed to do something but that part was no longer viewable. That is specificly what I am refering to. If you know better, by all means. 1000 people all say the same and for some reason cannot agree on anything about anything when dealing with this 2012 stuff. So what you may have seen and read as fact, someone else saw and put something diffrent out there. Are you correct or is he correct...? ..or the other 50,000 researchers? I dunno. but he was the one that got the video on the discovery/history channel.

As I have already said the image you are talking about comes from the Dresden Codex. The contents of this are quite well understood. The flood depiction is on the last page of the codex but there is no date associated with this event. Some researchers tried to connect it to the Popol Vuh but there is no reason for this.

The reference to a return of a god comes from Tortuguero Monument 6. This is the only inscription from the entire Classic period that mentions 13.0.0.0.0. This monument is in fact heavily damaged and some words from the inscription are missing. Early attempts to translate this monument led researchers to believe that this was a prophecy. Since then the consensus has changed and most Mayanists now agree that what is being referred to in this inscription is a ceremony where a priest would dress up as the god. Even the researchers who did the initial translation agree with this more recent one. In fact there are some researchers who even argue that this inscription makes reference to 13.0.0.0.0.

When it comes to 2012 it's best to stay away from History and Discovery as sources. Their credibility has taken a nosedive in recent years. Now they would rather entertain as opposed to educate.

I cant agree with this. I always find it best to know all that you can dig up and come to my on conclusions in the end after seeing everyones take on it. This specific topic seems too diluted in this day and age to really be curious about it so much, as there are tons of other prophecies and what not that point to the same time frame.


The only bit of information that interested me is the one part about the "priest dressing up as a god". I see alot of similarities in all thats being thrown out there today. It's that "similarity" that gets me curious.

So.. A priest dressing up as a god.. this bring anything to mind for anyone else?

Im not saying I believe it.. I'm just sayin that there are an aweful lot of similarities in the Big Bad Event thats supposed to be taking place soon, according to beliefs around the world from Jesus in toast to the rapture.

Its hard not to take note of the similarities.

It looks like you get to be the next person that takes part in my challenge. So far few have even bothered to respond to it and those that have responded haven't really provided an answer. Can you please provide me sources for all these other civilizations that have prophecies regarding 2012? I don't want some New Age site that claims these prophecies exist. I want links to the actual prophecies.
