The year of the dragon is a year of celebration...
What kind of year will 2012 be? Many expect 2012 to bring about the end of the world, perhaps because they mistakenly think of Mayan or Hindu cosmologies as linear rather than cyclical. From a Feng Shui standpoint 2012, the year of the Yang Water Dragon, brings many possibilities for good fortune. Most people know that water covers 2/3 of our planet & comprises 95% of our bodies; we simply cannot live without it. In Chinese element theory, water produces wood, which signifies growth and is the natural element of the dragon. The dragon governs east/southeast, wealth accumulation & the hours of 7 a.m. - 9 a.m. Associated with thunder, lightning and arousal, the Water Dragon personifies creativity at its best.

Don't the Mayans have the dragon with water flowing from his mouth to represent 2012? If I'm not mistaken it's from the exact translation that spelt out the Dec.21 2012 event.

ATSers...I thought I'd stir the pot and throw this out there:
Is there a correlation between 2012: The Year of the Dragon and Planet X/Nibiru/Wormwood aka the Fiery Dragon??
I don't know the answer...I don't know if Planet X is real or not. I'm just putting this out there. Look forward to the conversations and the attacks!

It's the theme of the OP...OP even said he/she was looking forward to the conversations and attacks.
I personally think talking about a fictional planet with no fact is also extremely childish...

There is no such thing associated with the Long Count. If I remember correctly the image you are referring to comes from the Dresden Codex which makes no mention of 13.0.0.0.0 whatsoever.

When it comes to 2012 it's best to stay away from History and Discovery as sources. Their credibility has taken a nosedive in recent years. Now they would rather entertain as opposed to educate.
