Megatokyo comic #168 (9/11/01)
September 11, 2001 - A Failure of Conscience.
Buildings can be rebuilt, no matter what the size.
The void in the sky is just not the absence of buildings,
but the loss of faith in the human conscience.
We hope that this too, can be rebuilt.
On the eve of a Republican National Convention invoking 9/11 symbols, sound bytes and imagery, half (49.3%) of New York City residents and 41% of New York citizens overall say that some of our leaders "knew in advance that attacks were planned on or around September 11, 2001, and that they consciously failed to act," according to the poll conducted by Zogby International. The poll of New York residents was conducted from Tuesday August 24 through Thursday August 26, 2004. Overall results have a margin of sampling error of +/-3.5.

it was truly a sad day for those innocents to die in sept 11.
This is how the US payed for it's sins around the world, payed for with the blood of the innocents. Instead of showing anger at their govt, the US people protected them and embraced them. Emboldened the US govt will continue to commit sins around the world and there will undoubtedly be more sept. 11's in the US to come.
Let's also remember the thousands who have died all around the world by the hands of the government of the United States of America as well, by the hands of US intervention, bombing, embargoes, state sponsored terrorism and the corporations.
thanks,

Ive been watchin mulitble news stations today (thei big ones not any local ones yet) And i have not seen one image from 9-11. No towers, no planes, no firemen, and no pentagon. They say that it is for the families whose love ones died. DOnt you all think it is a good thing to show them for the fact that we dont forget how terrible that day was. Its becomming like history of the old days. Its jsut words on a page. Im not advocating showing ever grusome detail, but i want to see soem pictures and video of that day. I mean i try to keep this even fresh in my mind for the fact i dont ever want to go thorugh it again but i know for myself i am becoming alil bit numb to the whole thing.

I mean really........You can go to hell. Innocent people should not have to pay with their lifes. The people in the towers did not do anything wrong. The firemen and police men did not deserve to die. The statement you made just shows your ignorance. Remeber those who have fallen.

More well-known in this country were the dreadful words of Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, and not a few lesser-known preachers who asserted that September 11 was God's punishment for America's sins. Conveniently enough for many high-profile televangelists, the sins they believed God was targeting were the same ones they themselves had been condemning the loudest for years (homosexuality chief among them). Thus some preachers likewise looked at the 9/11 devastation and proclaimed, "So there!"

While you're at it, please purchase one way tickets to hell for Republican pulpit politicans like Falwell and Robertson that likened 9/11 to a gift from God.
It's still amazing to me how we've gone from what I saw at the time of 9/11 on AOL boards which was some cheering 3,000 less democrats, Jews and fags in the world to undoubtably some of those same people actually having a convention where they hate everyone in order to remind people in small towns to be scared the boogeyman is coming, like they did in NY.

American scum
I don't know why the mods will let you say such things and punish me, if I tell you what you really are.
You've taken Sickboy's quote out of context. He is not saying that all Americans are scum.Just the ones who gave to Noraid and financially supported terrorism themselves.
I think we can all agree that anyone that helps to finance terrorism is scum.
That all said this thread was created to comemorate the events of 9/11.Out of respect let's all keep this thread for that purpose and not post off topic remarks.
