I agree. What a way to start with another war that could basically end life as we know it. I guess that is why Christmas has seemed so gloomy to me this year no matter how I tried to enjoy the season. I kept thinking in the back of my mind this could the last real Christmas that my family might have. Besides all the end day programs on TV all week to remind me every night this is our last year on earth. Thanks media !!!! What a holiday!!!

I think this years first disaster will be the same disaster we have every new year, people will hate each other, fear each other and have no ability to empathise with each other leading to more pointless deaths, sadly the date changes but basic human nature does not

A large part of ATS has to do with anticipating/predicting disasters, and coping/analyzing the cause, meaning, and ramifications of ones that have occurred. While I agree that sensationalism is not called for, nor is fear-mongering - the internet and this site is perfect for discussing such things.
