I've seen this picture referenced a few times, but does anyone know more about it?
Are there actual pictures of the cave painting?

I'm sure this has been discussed already on ATS, but I couldn't find more information searching.

www.crystalinks.com...

This cave painting is c.10,000 BC and is from Val Camonica, Italy.
It appears to depict two beings in protective suits holding strange implements.

Very interesting picture. Thanks for sharing, I have not seen this before.

One observation I'd add is the turtles...

... I think we've found the human race's missing link!

Honestly though this is very good. Always welcoming more evidence of contact from other intelligent beings. Be them from Earth, a higher dimension, or the Cosmos.

Its strange how the arms of the larger one flow into the brain of the smaller one.
When I look at it, it gives me the feeling of the larger one almost becoming part of and controlling the smaller one.

From the quoted piece of the article, regarding "holding strange implements"...I don't see anything that looks like implements being held. So I am a bit confused by that piece. Interesting picture.

It kinda looks like a child coming out of the mother's womb? Then again it probably isn't.
Nonetheless good find.

Seems like the Hollow Earth Theory to me, where there is a entrance at the north pole, and the south pole is depicted as being Ice- covered

Could represent the inner Earth.

I would love to see an actual photo of the cave, with this is, im not doubting, or trying to take away from the picture, but it looks kind of like a photocopy of something to me.

it also look like the bigger one has its head open and the people at the top are throwing something in
very interesting!

I think it has some meaning with day and night as well. Look at the characters at the bottom and you'll see the sun on one side and the moon on the other.

Also, look at the lines that go from the hands to the brain.

I also fail to see any implements being held. I do however see what appears to resemble a rocket.
If you look at the tail of the snake on the right it flows around to the opposite side and resembles a rocket at the end.

I would also like to see the cave wall it was taken from. I do believe it to be authentic, but to see the real deal would be nice also. Interesting pic never the less.

so many of these paintings from around the world have similarities.
the aboriginal 'wondjina' in australia are almost the same.
there's some here in the southwest u.s. that are almost identicle concerning facial features.
it's hard to believe it's coincidence.

Not sure on the "implements" either, but definitely an interesting pic I haven't seen before. I thought the arms/brain connection was odd too.

Anyone else notice the people at the top of the pic have beaks? Hmm...

Thanks for sharing, OP!

Cool image. To me it looks like a really nice depiction of where people think they came from. You've got the stars and the sun and the moon at the bottom, then people walking up with tourtoises, signafying very slow movement from the creation of te stars, right up to the point where you are born. Watched by people, greeted by the snakes, maybe depicting the natural world or something more spiritual.

Personally I love the tourtoises, perfect depiction of an implication of speed, so simple, but so brilliant. Took brains that.

Not sure I see any ufo connection, just a very clever depiction of a womb connected to a mother with a child, all as one.

Be a great tattoo that.

Part of what catches my eye is the 4 people at the top. The way they are holding their hands out to me suggests some sort of ritual magic. It is like they are summoning a creature and holding within a "bubble"....Either that or these creatures come from the sea as is suggested by the sea turtles. Also the sun/stars and moons at the bottom...perhaps they were in contact with aliens that came from space, but lived in the sea, and were interested in/studying sea turtles....

No matter what it is, it is a very interesting picture.

Yup, I see it now that you pointed it out. The "beak people" are throwing crumbs of... knowledge? ...into the open mind of the larger central figure. Then there's the serpents up there too. Tie-in to Garden of Eden story anyone? (Knowledge of Good & Evil, serpent...)

I think could be a cycle of time and the figures at the top come out during the night. Follow it around and use the turtles as a symbol of sleep, the sun as times of activity,....I'm not sure about the symbols of man. Maybe it's time where man is suppose to being something. The may have had rituals or something at the times indicated....???

Also just noticed the 'flipper feet' on the two central figures, and the fact that the 'artist' went out of his/her way to draw in lungs on the smaller figure in the center. Some sort of suggestion of evolution?

Notice the banding on the legs too.

Just read the beak on the top people comment, above that's quite bizarre.Bird heads, to me would imply people from the sky.

So, from a purely logical point of view, the image seems to be depicting that people were beleived to have been born many years ago, after the sun, the moon and the stars had formed, then very slowly over time, people were born, until they were born, under the watchfull gaze of people from the sky, with some sort of spiritual, or magical significance or connection.

I'm trying to be as logical as possible, but it does seem to represent something supernatural which could quite easily drift into the alien / ufo realm.

Maybe the bandings are bones ? Implied segmentation, not on the arms though, curious eh.................

to new_here : Evolution, or a depiction of basic anatomy, either way could fit easily, both suit the overall theme nicely.

In my opinion this is far from evidence of space aliens visiting Earth.

When it comes to what these ancient people were actually trying to depict in their paintings the possibilities are pretty much endless. Everyone is going to interpret them differently.
