I am sometimes skeptical of anything i read but this is old news apparently. I would like to rehash this story for those who haven't read it before and cite a few articles if I may.united nations office for disarmament affairs

*** Create an INTERNATIONAL gun registry, setting the stage for full-scale gun CONFISCATION.

I'm sure I don't have to tell you that this is NOT a fight we can afford to lose.

Ever since its founding 65 years ago, the United Nations has been hell-bent on bringing the United States to its knees.

To the petty dictators and one-world socialists who control the UN, the United States of America isn't a "shining city on a hill" -- it's an affront to their grand designs for the globe.

These anti-gun globalists know that so long as Americans remain free to make our own decisions without being bossed around by big government bureaucrats, they'll NEVER be able to seize the worldwide power they crave.

And the UN's apologists also know the most effective way to finally strip you and me of ALL our freedoms would be to DESTROY our gun rights.

That's why I was so glad to hear that the National Association for Gun Rights is leading the fight to stop this assault on our Constitution!




The truth is there's no time to waste.

You and I have to be prepared for this fight to move FAST.

The fact is the last thing the gun-grabbers at the UN and in Washington, D.C. want is for you and me to have time to mobilize gun owners to defeat this radical legislation.

They've made that mistake before, and we've made them pay, defeating EVERY attempt to ram the UN Small Arms Treaty into law since the mid-1990s.

But now time may not be on our side.

Even with the Republican tidal wave in 2010, there still isn't a pro-gun majority in the Senate to kill ratification of the treaty.

You know just as well as I do how few Senators are truly "pro-gun."

Not only that, but many Senators get "queasy" about killing treaties for fear of "embarrassing" the President -- especially with "international prestige" at stake.

They look at ratifying treaties much like approving the President's Supreme Court nominees.

Remember how many Senators turned their back on us and voted to confirm anti-gun Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor?

A dozen more only voted against Sotomayor after receiving massive grassroots pressure from the folks back home.

So if we're going to defeat the UN Small Arms Treaty gun owners have to turn the heat up on the U.S. Senate now before it's too late!

Do you believe the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Second Amendment are the supreme law of the land?

I did find it odd that that excerpt from my email was signed and endorsed by Rand Paul. I do support Rand but maybe it was the fact that I got this in my email.

I checked into the legality of this treaty and whether or not it would effect our 2nd Amendment or not and came up with a wiki link to the Supreme court ruling

I am a little more relaxed on the issue but it still doesn't sit well with me to know that it may still make it HARDER to be a law abiding gun owner.

I hope by rehashing this old issue the newer members can have the added insight into what has been transpiring. If the old argument comes up that this a been there done that already issue on ATS then oh well, Some people don't have the proir knowledge to use the search function for a specific issue that they maybe had no idea about to start a journey and I will give them a starting point. Search funtion is useless unless you are looking for a specific topic and its not like looking at a library with all the titles neatly in your face to choose from. I did use the search function and did find this topic but decided to post anyway.

Sort of just finding plans for a nuclear warhead in your email - do you talk to subsequently inefficient terrorists? or just inadequate people who like to plot traps on youi?

I appreciate your bringing this here, even though there have been previous discussions on it. Obviously there are differing opinions on whether this is even something to worry about; for instance, I read an NRA article debunking the entire thing.

But here's the important thing: Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.* Treaties are constantly being negotiated in secret--because that's the way fascist corporatists and insecure despotic rulers like to do things. We The People are not allowed to know beforehand what's in them (it's a matter of "National Security," you see). Even if it's a false alarm this time, that doesn't mean that's the end of the matter. Better to agitate a little now than to be horribly surprised later.

(By the way, the Wikipedia article on Reid v. Covert read like absolute gibberish. Every sentence seemed to negate the one preceding it; what the conclusion was--or even the main thrust of the whole thing--was completely lost on me. Someone needs to pre-digest that damn thing and post the salient points for the rest of us.)

The NRA is not a pro-2nd Amendment organization. They actually WANT more gun laws.

GOA, Gun Owners of America is the only 2nd Amendment Organization.


When Secretary of the Treasury Snow left and went to work for the Carlyle Group and started buying up all the gun makers....he knew where the money would be.

When President Obama was elected he sure stimulated the economy. Every case of ammo sold out, Wal-Mart couldn't keep it's shelves stocked with ammo.....more guns were sold than anytime in US history. Gun makers couldn't keep up with sales.

Even Hippy Leftists went out and bought firearms. They know whats coming.

No! heck no! My intention was to draw light to the issue and whether it may resurface again for vote again under another name. My concern is for the Gun owners and the citizens of the U.S having their sovereign rights trampled by international treaties.
