Avatar rules confusion

On this thread:

the dimensions for an an avatar are given as 160x320 pixels. Yet when you go to myTools+->uploads, there is a note on the page that says the max dimensions for an avatar is 170x240 pixels.

Why the confusion, and which is correct?

Have you noticed the age of your linked thread?
That explains the discrepancy.
I think the rules were changed when the site was restructured last year

No, I hadn't noticed the age, it was just the first hit in google for "ATS avatar dimensions", so I will assume the other size is the correct one.
