Apple just reported his passing from pancreatic cancer.

This is truly an end of an era given his contributions.

May he rest in peace.

Although he had already stepped down, it marks the end of an era. RIP!

I saw it on a Twitter post by AP but can't find any other confirmation...

If it's true, I don't think this is in the least bit shocking. Jobs' wasn't looking so well to me in photographs taken just prior to (or after, can't recall) his resignation. Eerily, I remember someone on ATS predicting this would happen in the beginning of October.

The world has lost one of the original and most famous hackers along with a man who's dreams became part of our every day life

Yep it's true. we lost a true innovator and superb ceo. I just heard an interesting fact. Jobs personally has over 200 US patents to his name. This is a bummer.

Good, I hope his lame cult goes with him shortly after.

Can we just toss in the 50% reduction of price in all Apple crap now that reality will be reuniting with APPL?

Thank you all for providing links.

I just added a few to the OP

Really is a bummer. The man was a genius and a game changer, the likes of which we may not see for quite some time.

A few minutes you posted before other people...Come on people read the threads before posting repetitive threads. This was the first one since it was sent at 4:42 everyone who posted this same thread posted it at 4:46 and 4:47....It's sad RIP Steve. Pancreatic cancer though? Was he a heavy smoker? If so I think I should quit.

it looks like all the articles right now have only a prewritten article prepared before his death

I think it can be safely said that the iPod revolutionized the digital music age, bringing it to where it is today. I grew up using the Mac Operating System and switched to Windows in my teen years. I don't much care for Apple products now, but still a shame that he has died.

sorry to burst your bubble but steve jobs was no hacker. he was just the marketing guru. the original engineer of the apple computers was a phone freak jobs was just his friend was was good at marketing. Steve jobs had no engineering background at all he was just good at selling a product and marketing it well. Regardless Apple did innovate the smart phone industry even if they are milking the crap out of it and not being as revolutionary with each product. i hope he finds the peace he was looking for in life.
