toutatis, an asteriod the size of a city is scheduled to PASS the earth september 29th 2004, but there is a 63% chance of impact. If the asteroid hit it would destroy an area the size of europe and wipe out 1/3 of all life on earth. There is the possibility of it fufilling bible revelation-the star wormwood- and they say the messiah is to return soon after this date...

Do a google search on toutatis, the ball of redemption or near earth objects and you will realise this is not an asteroid to be misjudged. Value life and treat those around you with ove and respect, because d-day is coming, soon after if not this time...

I think that if that asteroid hit us, Jesus would find himself pretty much alone when he arrived.
Maybe it's hollowed out and it's Jesus' spaceship...
Where's Aussie Bloke when you need him?

EDIT -

That reminds me BTW, I bought an interesting looking book in Glastonbury yesterday which I had better start reading soon. It's called:

'Comet of Nostradamus, August 2004 - IMPACT!'

so I havn't got much time to read it... hehe.

No kidding... besides, there was an asteroid (2004 FU162) that skimmed a mere 6,500 meters above earth on March 31st. They didn't even know about it until after the fact.

www.rense.com...

Sept 29th will be like Aug 12th, 19th, 22nd... did I miss any??

Alright. This is getting old. Christians, please make a mental note RIGHT NOW to read your bibles again.

It is written

"I will come like a thief in the night" and "none shall know when it will happen, it cannot be predicted"

Therefore, if it is predicted, it will not happen because the prediction would prove that the Christian God is falible. Why is it that so many say Jesus is allowing the apocolypse and this is when it will happen? By saying this, you are pushing the date back. I have heard many a pastor or priest say it will be within the next 50 to 100 years.

Guess what. Now that it is predicted, it CAN'T happen in the next hundred years, or your god is fake.

So any "true, God fear, real Christian" would NEVER try to predict armageddon.

armageddon believer, I think your avatar is messing up the format of the forum. You might want to fix that.

I hate to think about this one but I feel that anagrams have alot to do with prophecies and life in general and since we have been hearing so many reports of the Pope's ills, well.

For example:
Carolyn Bessette = Recent Lost by Sea
Princess Diana = End is a car spin

Coincidence?

An anagram of Asteroid Toutatis = TIARA DIE TO TOUT US

I interpret this as during this asteroid passing someone who wears a Tiara will die and it will inform/bother us about something or inform/bother the U.S. of something.

Just my crazy imagination.

it was 6500 KILOmeters, by the way.

and isn't this like the 80 millionth Toutatis thread on ATS? it'll be 4 lunar distances away. not terribly close at all.

I don't believe it! They are still doing this! Allaying fears (I guess) by making phony predictions every few months.I thought it worked already with Millenium fever!
Just tell the people not to worry. The real prediction say there will be portents or indicators just beforehand,OK?
Panicking? Yeah,some,once they realize. Looting.
But as Cayce said "What does it matter if you live right?"
What he meant was that you can be saved by the Elementals, or given pror warnings (The Bible is full of such stories). But if you think you can put a fortress on a mountaintop to guarentee your survival, you are wrong.
"Most have had experiences beforehand" 2iC

Anyone have the actual odds of a cataclysmic asteroid hitting the earth in an average person's lifetime? It is probably something like winning powerball every week for life. I wouldn't waste 5 seconds worrying about it. Actual odds of someone on this forum making a correct prediction about anything probably close to 100 asteroids hitting earth in the next week. Not going to happen. Now give me some hard information then we can have a discussion instead of guessing about this or that every other week.

I am quite angry that these "predictions" of late are getting more wacky by the minute...

First all the so called predictions used to be some "years or centuries" into the future, and nowadays its like "we have 5 days left" we will ALL die on november 31 (there is no such day!:lol

The Asteroid will pass within 4 lunar distances so its chances of hiting us are as probable as Ralph Nader driving a chevy vintage Corvair in a blizzard!!!.

Do your own reading and then make a post do not invade the thread with more links so we have to dig your lack of reading skill-comprehension or worst.....

this thread draws me to 2 conclusions: (WARNING RANT MODE ON)

WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE..SO LIVE NOW AND GET A FREAKIN LIFE....

SOME PEOPLE ARE SO DESPERATE TO GET ATTENTION OR POINTS IN ATS THAT THEYLL post ANYTHING

RANT MODE OFF !!!

Just some questions, just how do they predict by how much these asteroids miss earth, and who does this?

If it passes within 4 lunar distances will we be able to see it?
Guess that depends on its size and such.

I also think this "predict our doom by asteroids" has gotten out of hand - theres no way to tell when the warning is for real anylonger. If it was for real the general public would probably be the last to know.

Everyone knows there is no such thing as an asteroid. They became extinct along with the dinosaurs.

I thought they were just a myth myself

Many have come close.Very close.
January 7th 2002 - The asteroid, officially known as 2001 YB5, measures between 300 and 400 meters (1,000 to 1,300 feet) in width. It was a close call as it came in 600,000 km (375,000 miles) from earth.

The asteroid, 2004 FH came within 26,500 miles of Earth in March.

There was one that was even closer but I forget the name of it as I was watching for it on a site in which I will post a link to.This one pretty much skipped off our atmosphere.
You can go HERE and watch many asteroids in an applet. You can see just how close they come to us.
