What is the Draconids meteor shower:
en.wikipedia.org...

It happens during early October, the best nights being Oct. 8-10. The Draconids are best viewed after sunset in an area with a clear dark sky. The 1933 and 1946 Draconids had Zenithal Hourly Rates of thousands per hour.

Apparently, the same level will be reached again on the 8Th of October. I only got a Google translation , hopefully good enough:

Translation

I wonder if your satellites and the ISS will be in danger at all?
edit on 18-9-2011 by Romanian because: (no reason given)

Nasa is providing more details:
science1.nasa.gov...

Every 6.6 years Comet Giacobini-Zinner swings through the inner solar system. With each visit, it lays down a narrow filament of dust, over time forming a network of filaments that Earth encounters every year in early October.

I hope we do not talk about "dust" having several meters in size !
