My Mother's story...Looking for info.

What's up ATS?

I'm going to cut right to the chase. My Mother told me about something she saw a couple nights ago.
The point of this thread is to of course share the story, and I'm also wondering if anyone heard, or seen anything like this.

Some additional info:
Location- Ocean county, NJ
Time- Approx. 8:30-9:00pm
Date- Sept 8th, 2011

The Story...

Well it started off with her sitting outside on the back patio. She noticed a light above the treeline (which is about 100 yds from the back patio). She said the light was a straight line, with multicolored lights flickering from one end to the other. It was not moving, she observed this for about 10 minutes. She said it than started to fade, and then become clear again, and then fade again, repeating a couple times. She went in to show her boyfriend, but it was gone when they returned.

Well, that's it!
I had tried looking up cigar shape UFOs, and anything I could think of that would fit that description.
However, I have found plenty of "lines" (cigars) in the sky videos/pics, but I can't find one during the night!
I hope some of you can help me out on that front.

Well, she's not like you and I when it comes to this stuff.
She can be pretty oblivious at times, I could tell you some moments.
