Who are TPTB (The Powers That Be)?

Here at ATS, in almost every thread that garners enough attention to make a main page appearance, and in fact many, many others, you will see someone mentioning TPTB (cue eerie music) ...dun dun dun. It is almost a definite that someone, somewhere is typing those exact 4 letters right now as I am typing them here.

My question to my fellow ATS members, is who exactly do you think TPTB are?

I have seen so many groups referenced as a possibility, sometimes even contradictorily. (I hope thats a real word, if not I just made it up). I have seen threads where someone rails against the sitting government, calling them incompetent, paid shills, and nothing more than paid mouthpieces, and then call them TPTB later in the same post.

Of course there are also those among the membership here who believe that TPTB are a more shadowy, secret and hidden group that pulls the strings on the puppets that they put into places of power for public consumption. There are many names and groups.

The Bilderbergs, The Illuminati, FreeMasons, Mlitary Industrial Complex, Skull and Bones, The Greys, The Reptilians, The Fed , Bohemian Grove group or some other group altogether. The list at times seems endless.

These are just a few of the videos avalable for view for free on youtube regarding these various groups. I am sure that many of us have seen most of these, but for those who havn't, I suggest clicking on the youtube link and moving over to youtube to watch the video, and watch some of the suggested titles as well. Get a full grasp and understanding of what these groups are.

So, ATS, what say you here. Who do you think pulls the strings and controls your life. Is it one of these groups, some other cnglomeration in itselgf, or by using the term TPTB does that just make you a paranoid tinfoil type and what we see is actually what we get when it comes to power?

I am interested to hear what we all have to say.

"The powers that be" are the world's richest people/organizations. What they call themselves (if they even name their little alliance) is pretty much irrelevant.

Money = power.

In the beginning there was probably just one organization – let’s call them the Illuminati. This group over time probably expanded, and broke off into several different sections and groups – much like Christianity. First there was the Holy Roman Church, which later split off into protestant religions. Even though they are completely separate organizations, they still have the same goals in mind, which is salvation.

These different groups, like Christianaity, probably spread out to the entire world, forming new names and organizations; while keeping the same goals in mind as their mother organization.

These different groups probably meet up and discuss their goals – The Bilderberg Group, etc. Here in these meetings, they probably make decisions that will affect the world. The beauty to this is that since there is no one particular main group, they can remain in the shadows even better.

For example, lets say the Free Masons are among this group, as are The Jason Group, etc.

Each group, at the lower levels, probably think they are unique, while the upper echelon is probably the only ones in the know – that they are all truly part of a larger whole. So the lower members keep their mouth shut, never discussing their inner workings.

These heads are the ones who probably meet up at the collective conference – and they are probably names that you have never heard before.

I believe mentorriddle post pretty must describes my views. This TPTB probably originated before europenas took over america. Have you ever heard of, The American Project? Google it and you will be surprised at what you find. good post. Peace

I beleive the goals of these people have been passed down from generation to generation.

The difference between the past and now is technology. Our modern technology is making it possible for these goals to come to completion.

What people see and infer are the elites that have been suckered in and led around by the nose by these beings throughout the ages.

In simple terms it is:

1. the monarchs/royal families (he who has the gold....) even though america became "free" who still had the gold? this is my personal Freedom Face Palm..
2. The same 'money changers' mentioned by Yahweh/Jesus in the Bible
3. the lackies and henchmen...letter agencies, media, robber barons, CEO's, badge wearers (albeit simple minded mentality, brainwashing, pavlovian style mind warping)

people have completely forgotten that king had harems (virtual baby factories for lineage) and that all these kids were to some extent entitled to royal child support. Predominately this group of "royal step children" are/have been given a small portion of the King's wealth to live on.. Which they used to become the upper 5% of wealthy conglomerates..Although they aren't heirs to thrown per se: they are still viewed as "better than the rest of us"..
So you see, the game is even more rigged than many understand...

I believe TPTB are going to have roots 1000 years old; there are various names like illuminati, bilderbergs, etc but they will always be fronts to be discarded as they are exposed.
currently the Rothschild family (go to rothschild.com for their surface banking information). the city of london is probably the most active nest, and Israel is the most exposed of their enforcers... check out what is on rothschild streets in israel, the bronze plaque on the Israeli supreme court, etc.

their operatives are at the top of all US enforcement and military agencies.

for example, Michael Chertoff wrote the Patriot Act prior to 9/11, then founded the TSA, which gave them a parallel capability to the FBI as most ATS readers know, 9/11 brought the TSA and the Patriot act into being.

The key power of TPTB in the US is the issuance of currency and credit. e.g., The Fed.

They kill to retain this control: the job of the US Secret Service is to protect the currency and kill the president when he threatens to pull this power from them..

Their control over the media makes it hard to see the above connections.

It seems the over(under)whelming majority so far is leaning towards those wh have the largest pocketbooks as TPTB. But who are they? Are they hiding so far in the shadws that no one knows who they are?

Orare they operating out in the open, flaunting their cash? Soros? Could it be Oprah? I dont mean to be funny here, not that I ever am, but I want t try and boil it down to those few names, not just a widesweeping comment like 'money=power' because there are plenty f people who have loads of money but not so much power.

Who are TPTB? or are they blocking this thread already? waiting outside my driveway...

General, that was the pint I was trying to get to, via the use of this thread. I didnt want to just make a blanket statement, one and done:

The powers that be are inside us all.

We have the power over our own lives, we can blame the govt or the whomever we choose as keeping us down because they have the money and the political power, but we have inside of us all a greater power. Do not ever let someone tell you that yu can not do something because of the powers that be.

The powers that be are ourselves.

I don't think any of the people we are aware of are at the top of the pecking order. Most likely we have been totally unaware of them throughout history, their front-men taking the heat whenever there are problems, revolutions. I like the ancient Greek explanation, though the Romans and others had the same stories but with different names. In the Greek mythology, it was Hephaestus who, without the approval of the other 'Gods', created us in their likeness.
We are capable of being as smart as them, but do not have the wisdom to control the negative behaviour that goes along with 'free will'.
I see Zeus(Jehova), giving the 10 commandments to Moses, as telling him that this is the way he wants humanity to behave, and if we do not, then we are to be punished. It was/is the job of the 'chosen ones' to tempt us with all the things that appeal to the baser instincts, and this is why the Zionists, the current front for the 'testers' control the money supply, the corporations that produce all the useless 'shiny beads' that we all long for, the media who tell us what we should all be doing and thinking, the porno industry, Hollywood, religion, etc.
The original Gods who thought we were 'not worthy' were:
Hermes: deceit, lying and thieving; Ares: hate and war; Poseidon: sea, storms, moves mountains - earthquakes ; Artemis: huntress, desire, greed, money and power (manifested in the temple of Artemis at Theseus); Aphrodite: lustful desires, sexual intrigue and jealousy. This group represents the "satan" forces of society and cynically don't believe that we can overcome their temptations.
It seems that we have failed the test. The punishment is beginning; they are taking away money, ramping up wars, perhaps altering the weather and causing quakes. I am hoping they will not be using some of their past tactics of punishment like the nuking of Sodom and Gomorrah, the Grim Reaper of the dark ages, the plagues and pestilence.
And of course we have to realise that it is OUR fault, not the individual, but collectively. We will reap what we have sown, and unfortunately, the PTB ENJOY their God-given task, and will eliminate us all if neccessary, if we do not change our ways, and soon. A good start? "Thou shall commit no murder". We must end ALL war, now. We must look after the poor, and the sick, and end the worship of Mammon. Could we do it? I think not, unfortunately.
