Kingman (Arizona) light show defied logic. Photos & Video included. Formation of Cessnas?

There's some increasing local buzz in the Phoenix area again as we have what some are calling a repeat of the Phoenix Lights on the evening of Thursday, August 4th. As those who are familiar with the 1997 sighting/incident, the lights were also seen in the Kingman, AZ area.

For more than an hour beginning sometime around 8 p.m., a Kingman man said he photographed a series of lights that danced their way from the east near the Kingman Airport to the southern horizon, creating oval and rectangular formations as they crossed the sky.

"They weren't zooming around," said 20-year-old Michael Baca, who noticed the lights while driving down Airway Avenue with his cousin. "They were very methodical in their movement.

Baca followed the lights out to the desert, where he said multiple other residents had already gathered to get a better look at the them.

One person posting comments to the story has this to say:

I have been making calls and doing research and you are going to want to talk about this or do more research. I called kingman airports fleet commander and he said that there were NO aircraft from kingman in the sky that night. So I decided to call the 3 closest millitary bases and the marine air base and nellis said that they had NO aircraft over kingman that night. I then called Luke Air force base and the person told me that they were probably just flares set off by a 10 warthogs which is the same reason they gave for the 1997 phoenix lights case. I am trying to make this go viral but these circumstances and getting weird.

While many others are being more skeptical.

The page of a popular afternoon/evening talk radio personality, Mike Broomhead (KFYI) indicates there may be an explanation of sorts...

UPDATE 3:45 PM (PST)

The Kingman Daily Miner has learned that the lights came from Embry-Riddle Flight School. They will post the entire story (or to UFO believers 'State Sponsored Government Media Cover-Up') tomorrow. We will bring you the details as they happen!

Since I live here in Phoenix, I'm attempting to follow-up with those involved to see what this really might be... first-hand like.



UPDATE

The Daily Miner has updated the story, and apparently the lights were a formation of Cessna 17s landing for refueling.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University out of Prescott confirmed that seven of its Cessna 172 planes refueled at the Kingman Airport between 8 and 10 p.m. Thursday.

The planes are part of the university's "Flight Exploration" summer camp, where students between the ages of 14 and 18 get a chance to pilot aircraft under the watch of certified instructors.

Get the camera out and snap off some pics. I was out in Phoenix about a month ago and laid out watching the sky for a couple of hours hoping i would get lucky, no dice though. I'll call my family out there and tell them to keep the cameras close!

I've always wanted to be at the right place right time for a mass sighting. I have seen what I considered to be a ufo twice in my life, both times I had no camera, and both times it was pretty amazing. You folks out in Phoenix seem to have the potential for mass sightings at least once a year!

It will start with people reporting strange lights / colours / sounds from the sky. This will get more and more frequent over the years, and more and more people will panic. The people will see pictures /events in the sky. then they will see craft and the like in the skies, culminating with a night, where people will see, in the night sky, the stars of the plough dance and shift. they will dance and shift about, and then be seen to swoop down over the heads of people in the sky forming shapes and sounds...

Oh man, that's great if its happening again! Better get those cameras to the skies! Wish I was there. I just found out about the 1997 light show you guys had from Jesse Ventura's show. In the show he talks with a man who thinks it's most likely either military, but not as a flying craft they create, but in the form of a hologram.

This is a joke! I live behind the Kingman Airport and know for a fact that these were small engine aircraft. I sat there watching them come over the mountain. The broke off from the cluster that they were inand traveled in opposite directions then banked really hard and each landed at the Kingman Airport, were they shortly took off. I called the Sheriff Department and asked them what was going on as a concerned citizen. Where they left me on hold until I eventually hung up. Not UFOs that is all BS!”

Not sure about the images. The link to the Dark Kn1ght thread made me click for some odd reason and there was something described by the OP of that thread that I have witnessed and been rattled by now twice. I have seen the lights in the sky on a few occasions and they "danced" to a point. One of these nights (2010) 3 were together and split up, I watched one (the last one visible) and it swooped down extremely fast and then stopped...It then ascended again but the light was so brilliant so fast I took a step back. The next time was not more then a week and a half ago where I saw but only one swoop down (and ascended) on a night where I saw over a dozen of them.

They looked like these found on youtube.

I dont know what those are in the video, but they definitely don't look like birds, or even fly like birds.... Odds are its not even E.T. its probably something the gov't is working on right now lol

I'd go as far as saying it's probably government too! Maybe they perfected the tech and have started training pilots how to fly in formation with them?

I see no reason why an ET craft would fly in formation with the tech they have and for what they are doing here on Earth, if of course they are here on Earth; but then poses another theory... maybe they like to mimic our formations? UFOlogy poses far too many questions!

Interesting stuff. It looks like the aircraft one user mentions, and in the USA I suppose anything is possible. Here in the UK I think they've banned flying in formation with trainer craft - because there have been too many tragic accidents in recent years whilst flying in formation. But that may not be UK-wide, and I'm sure it doesn't apply in America.

As for the fast-walkers (horrible name) they are great, but it's hard to theorize deeper because they never appear to come closer or further away, only "across" the sky. Still, pretty sure they should just remain to be called foo-fighters There are some amazing clips of those things out there.

most "UFO" sighting hot spots are near test facilities, hmmm could it just be advanced aircraft testing.

With recent more interesting and other credible information comming to light,and statements from people who had their fingers on the nuclear trigger,pilots,and even formed defence secetarys;something do seem to be building to a climax.

Those who have not seen this Film (close encounters of the 3rd kind,you really have to watch this.IMO the best ufo film ever or ever likly to be)

Translation: We will tell you the "Official Story" just as soon as we can make one up that is plausible.

My money is on the military testing angle. I haven't crunched the numbers, but there are probably more military testing facilities within a certain radius in the southwest then there are in any other part of the country. Think about what's out here for a second....

And then lets not forget about Silicon Valley, Gilbert Az. which is quickly becoming the new Silicon Valley, and Los Alamos, all of which could be providing technical support and computer knowledge to what the military is testing. Oh, and did I mention area 51? And only God knows what's under the Denver airport. There is a lot of mystery out here in the west. I'm not saying they weren't alien craft, I just think it's more probable that it was military testing.

Someone said that they called the 3 nearest bases to Kingman and they all denied any knowledge. It's also been said that the Kingman airport didn't approve or know about any planes in the area at the time in question. If it was military testing, first of all, of course the military isn't going to tell anyone what they're doing. Why should they? Just because you want to know something doesn't mean you should. Secondly, if the military wants the Kingman airport to keep their collective mouths shut, guess what? They will. Let's also not forget that a lot of private companies are getting in on this type of action. As a matter of fact, isn't NASA teaming up with privately held companies because of all the government cuts?

Someone also mentioned that the only helicopters, which those lights theoretically could have been, capable of silent hovering flight are the same ones used in the Bin Laden mission, and what on earth would they be doing out here? Becasue this is the nesk of the woods where they design, make, and test those bad boys. That's why. Do you think they are going to do all that in the Eastern part of the U.S. when the facilities are out here and the terrain out here is comparable to the middle east? Of course they're not. What better place to test and train military equipment and personnel that are going to the middle east than out here? The military may be crazy but they're not stupid.

Taking all this into account though, I still can't dismiss the possibility of alien craft. The thing is this. We all know that reverse technology exists and has been tested. And it more than likey all started right after the Roswell crash. There have also been other crashes where they have shipped the remains out to area 51. (My memory escapes me right now and I really should get back to work, but a quick Google search will give you results.) So if it wasn't craft that came directly from outer space, it could very well be craft that we have desgned from the technology that did come from outer space. Effectively making it alien to the average Joe who is kept in the dark about such things.

Just some food for thought in case you haven't had breakfast yet. back to the grind.

Yes thats very true...but so can manipulating computer software. You can sit their and make it look like something else as they probably were. And also as FEMA seemed to do regarding 9.11
