Watching the nonstop commentaries on television about the debt-ceiling debate only reinforces the reality that most people – including many perceived conservatives – still don't get it. If they did, they would not allow themselves to be diverted by a political circus.

I have found an article that articulates one of the topics I've been struggling to 'verbalize'. basically it explains how our freedom has been chipped away ever since the Trojan Horse document (my term, maybe I should TM it, lol) the constitution. How as many here may feel, as the parallels to weimar germany are ever growing. There are those among us who just don't seem to grasp the severity of our nations' current condition. As the old saying goes "in order to know where you are going, you must first know where you have been".

Hitler?

I don't see Obama creating jobs and building up infrastructure.

Oh I get it. You're using WND to try and draw a parallel between our president and the most misguided evil man perhaps in history. Glenn Beck has already been through this ad nauseum. I'm sure WND has articles of how Obama has swastika printed underwear and monogramed AH bath towels, but sadly it's WND propaganda itself which actually mirrors National Socialism and not the man in question.

Why is every president is compated to Hitler? Anyone with even a limited education knows its all bunk. I have been hearing this same garbage since Reagan and it was as foolish then as it is now.

Listen, buddy. Obama isn't Hitler - and I'm not saying that to defend him. In fact, my reasoning behind this is because most people are fed up with him and don't want him in power. Although your "super legitimate news source" (which is really just a right wing propaganda site) says that the "slobbery love affair" between Hitler and the people is similar to the one between Obama and America, it's simply wrong. Conservatives hate him, and liberals are fed up with him as well, because of his consistent right wing policies and his inability to stand up to conservatives. Point is, we're all angry at him at this point in time, and you're the delusional one if you really think he has even half of the staunch supporters he had in 2008. Hitler was forced out of power when he still had a strong German support base; Obama simply never even made it close, even if he wanted to be a dictator.

But just so you know, the Nazis weren't Socialist. They were Fascist. Just because I say I'm a millionaire doesn't mean I am one; just because the Nazis said they are Socialist doesn't mean they were.

Obama's a terrible, terrible terrible, terrible president, but he is not Hitler. Until he declares martial law and the suspension of the Constitution, this nation is still (although barely) free.

Could you post the exact text as it's written in the Bible that states that? I don't remember reading it.

No offense, man, but that is nothing if not hilarious.
1) So the Constitution is the problem, is it? This is the first right wing attack on that document that I've encountered. Typically it is a globalist lefty attack proclaiming that the Constitution is provincial and outdated. Now we're getting it from the right that The Constitution was far too liberal to begin with. Haha. Nice. These people are becoming so obvious with their ploys. So the elites that control useful idiots on the "right" and "left" are unhappy with the inconvenient brilliance of the Constitution.

2) The "Hitler Comparison" is becoming so weak. Watch some videos of Hitler. Watch some videos of Obama. They are so far different it is silly. Obama may be overstepping his power boundaries, but he is only following in the footsteps of fellow power abuser George W., also not comparable to Hitler. Both are far too weak and gladly so. Neither advocated killing large portions of the population. Not saying that both guys aren't slightly fascist (which is a system where socialism is married to corporatism) but neither gets Hitler status.

3) While we are in a dangerous era in our Republic's history and I am not confident for the future, this linked essay is so devoid of historical context or fact that I can't even begin to deconstruct it.

Obama is not Hitler. The Constitution is a major step in human social evolution. The problem is the movement by elites to destroy the Constitution. It is a step forward for 99% of humanity. Creating a belief in its inferiority or this new crazy right wing interpretation are nothing more than smoke and mirrors to get you to screw yourself over for them.

Actually, if I may interject, I believe the comparison between Hitler and Obama is 100% valid, but only in a very narrow scope. Specifically, the almost supernatural Charisma that let both men rise and enjoy ongoing support and success that was totally unexplainable in modern comparisons or parallels. That trait they both share.

I could also note that lack of experience....narcissism to the level of art form....and generally misguided thinking to long term effects, despite short term gains are also commonly held traits between the two men.

Obama does NOT compare to the Nazi Party or Nazi ideology. Not even as a passing thought. He just matches the characteristics of Hitler as a man, IMHO.

As others have pointed out Obama ain't Hitler. Making the statement the centerpiece of the article does detract from the one valid point the article does make. No, that point has nothing to do with Obama being like Hitler.

Obama isn't solely to blame for this, neither is Bush, though both have helped it along a great deal. The both just followed in the path in making the government stronger and democracy weaker. Don't believe me? Ask yourself if you still have many un-restricted freedoms as your parents did? Your grandparents did? Even as were around as a child? We aren't even selling our freedoms in exchange for anything. We are either giving them away because we are told its for our own good. Like kids who believe they can't be safe crossing the street unless Mama Government is watching. Either that or we don't even bother to care as long as we still have Facebook and Smart phones to track our lives and keep us busy while they are taking away.

100% agreed Frogs. Obama is destroying freedom but he isn't killing ethnic groups in large quantities either. We are the frogs in the pot. Unfortunately, you and I and a few other frogs are starting to feel the heat. Most of them haven't a clue.

Sometimes men with "vision" are the most repulsive. Examples besides HItler?
Lenin, Stalin, Napoleon, Alexander, Caesar, Il Duce, Idi Amin, Xerxes, Ghengis, Attila, Constantine, Mao, Pol Pot, Kim Jung Il, among others. Not "great men". Murderers.
