Is there a way to ignore someone so I don't have to see their posts?

Is there some way to hide an individual's posts so that I never see them when reading a thread? I don't want to make someone an "honored rival" and stroke their ego, I just don't want to read their posts at all because they really push my buttons and I don't want to respond and provide the person more ammunition by taking the bait.

I can't imagine wanting to ignore someone -
I want to see what others write about even
if I totally disagree. If I am upset by their post
I just don't leave a reply. You have
to have some self control in "life" - whether
it be in person or on the internet.

I am the same way. None of my foes are respected, so I do not add them.

some people push my buttons, but not all the time, it is quite likely that i have strongly disagreed with somebody on one subject and totally agreed with everything they have said on another. everybody bugs someone, it is impossible to come across in a way that does not push somebodies buttons no matter how you word something or what your opinions are.

i have disliked people before (in real life), but then got to know them and realised i just misunderstood them and they really were not that bad at all.

but like everyone else is saying just walk on by, ignore them by skipping the post.

Nope not anymore...apparently it was too much code to write and slowed down the site. In a nutshell.

I think ATS used to at least highlight your foes' posts in red...and your friends' in green. It made it easier to ignore threads from people who troll.

Now, they've taken away that feature and replaced it with silver, gold, etc contributors.

I agree with you. I would like to ignore certain people too. What the hell is the point of adding a "foe" anyway? This isn't a game.

There are a lot of trolls here. It would help to be able to ignore them.

OMG! You want your own personalized censorship on a very large site to cater to your very own personal needs.

Hey, why don't you go somewhere else. This is a place of sharing and letting go..... no how crazy it seems.

You are in the wrong site. Have you tried the 700 club?

But really, I do welcome you....you gotta be more open minded. That is what ATS is all about.

Best wishes.

Just ignore that individual, besides if you couldn't see what the person had to see then how could you systematically destroy their argument

Seriously though, just ignore them personally.

Also, the "Respected Foe" feature isn't designed for people you dislike. It's supposed to be reserved for other users who disagree with you on certain issues but you respect their intelligence.
