U.S. Sovereign Debt Downgraded to a "C-minus", DHS Warns Of Terror Attack If Debt Ceiling Not Rais

U.S. Downgraded to 'Near Junk' by Weiss

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Weiss Ratings on Friday downgraded its rating for United States sovereign debt to a "C-minus," or just one notch above a junk rating.

The new "C-minus" rating translates roughly to investment-grade ratings of "BBB-" at Standard & Poor's and "Baa3" at Moody's, both of which are one notch above junk status.

The looming debt ceiling deadline in Congress and tortuous negotiations with President Obama, "not to mention the complete lack of any plan to address the nation's obscene debt levels," led to the rating action, according to Weiss Ratings senior financial analyst Gavin Magor.

So while that is happening the Dept. of Homeland Insecurity decides to take advantage and now counter-terrorism experts are saying Al-Qaeda may attack if Debt Ceiling is not increased

As America’s economic stagnation continues largely unchanged in the face of a looming federal government debt crisis, federal counterterrorism intelligence officials and other authorities told Homeland Security Today the nation’s security increasingly is being put at risk, making the US at this moment in time a target for a major attack.

“So you can understand why Al Qaeda, or any other terrorist organization motivated by the jihadist ideology, would see that America is highly vulnerable right now – perhaps more than it’s ever been - to an attack or attacks the impact or direct effect [of which] would be further depression of the US’s economy,” one of the counterterrorism officials said.

But one thing they are right in is that Bin Laden wanted to hurt us economically
But we are hurting economically, but who's hurting us? Not muslims, no it's our elected officials and the FED

It's insane to address the threat of terror and say Bin Laden wanted us to be hurt economically and AQ will attack us soon but not talk about why the U.S. is defaulting.
That's just crazy talk and not someone who should be taken seriously imo

We have to raise debt but we aren't talking about solutions?
Look at what foreign aid does for example


Instead of raising the debt ceiling stop foreign aid, end the wars, enough with the cronyism, repudiate the FED and go from there

They can't just cut off entitlements without giving people a backup plan. That would be MASS murder. Most people on entitlements depend on that for 60-100% of their income. I doubt they will just cut off 50 million americans. Is our government that cruel?

This would be the exact meaning of 'Domestic Terrorism' IMO.

The DHS threatening American Citizens if they don't get what they want by instilling fear to push their personal agenda. That's Terrorism.

The Obama administation is currently on bended knee at S and P and Moodys begging them not to downgrade if they do it probably will be to AA they are Wall Street elite and dont want to hurt their mates too much,this outfit smaller and more independant is closer to the truth,that 9 trillion the Fed lost in a taxi cab is secured by something and that something is garbage.

It would have to be one big major mess to pull the economy out of the tank with military action. We're talking WW3, or a war with another major global nation, like China, or Russia. Which would be WW3.

Are they THAT stupid to try that? wait... it's our government we're talking about here... never mind, time to fill the larder, and buy extra stuff for survival before it's all tossed to rationing.

I love the "Be Afraid" tactics used by our beloved administration, certainly not a new idea as it's been thrown around to force through legislation before. What's sad about it is that it seems to work on people. I've had numerous conversations with people that feel so relieved that big brother is looking out for them. I will never understand why some people are so easily fooled.

So now politicians are officially playing chicken with the well-being of my country because they're obsessed with party lines. They've basically put a knife to the throat of the U.S. and perhaps many, many more on this planet for pretty much nothing other than being stubborn children.

I have an Idea, call all of your troops back to the USA. Stop hiring government employees (including military), and use our current military force to protect us from these "terrorists". If we can occupy foreign countries, I'm pretty sure we can manage our own. All they have to do is actually try. Unless they plan on bombing our homeland, this will cut all munition expenditures drastically.

Seems it's not the Arabs we have to worry about..

It's the wrinkled old men in government positions of power that are terrorising us.

Those traitors are showing their true colors more and more every day. That was the most blatantly obvious threat I've seen. How can the general public be so stupid and/or cowardly that they let an institution like DHS turn this country into what it is becoming? Why the hell aren't we doing something about this?

People might be armed, but honestly the people on entitlements will most likely have the lowest guns per capita in the country. A Liberal uprising would be highly amusing..

I beg to differ, not all of us on "entitlement programs" are liberals.

Many of us do not want to be on entitlement programs, but are in order to survive..

Many of us on entitlement programs do have at least 1 or 2 items for self defense... Usually based off the fact we are stuck living in the less then "friendly" neighborehoods because the rent is cheaper.

Cheap rent = Less then savory neighborehoods.

So try and rethink your thought-line just a little.

I don't think many of the pawns being used in this particuler chess game are going to be very pleased.

Bad juju to piss off a large quantity of people, and mess with their only means of survival.

If you have no means to survive, what do you have left. If that is the case, many might well feel compelled to do who knows what.
