I'm not sure what to make of this, so I'm posting here for your opinions.

First we have a normal sun

Then this

Followed by this

And back to somewhat normal except the top of the sun seems to have gotten brighter compared to the first image?

As you can see by the timestamps this all happened within about 30 minutes.
So any explanations??

Waiting for Phage to come and tell us
there's nothing at all unusual going on.

It's probably solar wind hitting the cameras sensors.

Energetic particles can cause this kind of effect.

Just my two cents.

Looks like something has interrupted the data stream in the second pic.

Maybe the result of a Solar Flare or CME?

If so that would also explain the anomalous patches in the third pic.

Why the fourth looks brighter though is a mystery.

The LASCO coronagraphs are very sensitive to dust particles that pass through the field of view. This is similar to the effect of a sunbeam shining through a window and scattering from the minute dust particles suspended in the air. Similarly, very small particles, at small angles from the Sun, get illuminated by the bright sun and are easily seen. Usually the space environment is very clean, but sometimes a streak is observed. Even more rare are images with multiple streaks, indicating more than one particle.

Debris

C2 caught a bit of it.

They look like particle strikes to me.

These also occur with video recordings from stereo ahead and stereo behind spacecraft cameras.

Hard to say not being an expert or anything, but the streaks appear to be passing between the sun and the camera to me.

If they were coming from the sun I would think it should appear to do so in the picture rather than look like something raining down in front of the camera. The size of the streaks would seem to confirm them being closer to the lense as well.

The increase in brightness I can't really say, though the sun is going through its active phase now so it could just be an increase in activity at the moment, but not sure.

Nice. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

If it was particles from the sun you'd just see dots....as they would be heading towards the satellite.

Not streaks going up and down, indicating directing is NOT from Sun to Satellite.

if they know how much everything is a conspiracy for some people they might even consider to suspend the data from public viewing...and that will be tragic
