people are claiming it's a photo lens fiber. I think it's BS. But there's already post about this some where here.

An object that close to the sun would be glowing,

It looks very similar to the crack in my windshield, sustained from a pebble.

I'll mail you the pebble and paint it red, we can call it nibiru.

Ya looks like a lens crack of some sort to me. If this thing had moved just a bit then I would think it was something else but since it didn't then it must be a lens crack.

What this is was posted on the official SOHO website it is a piece of dust inside of the camera aperture left over from assembly. Why else would the object remain stationary for so long .

Even an object of that size would get sucked right into the sun.

Its a rock chip and the window guys say its out of their territory.

It's really someone who doesn't understand that objects get lit brighter on the side closest to the strongest light source, and if this is an object, it must be banana shaped. People can't really be this dim, there must be an ulterior intention to start a thread like this, one would hope.

I am more curious about that churning hunka burning 'smoke-stack' to the left of that thing, at "1 o'clock" on the Sun! (And the lil' floaty white thing that emanates from it!)

It looks almost like a solar flare went off, and the image of it got somehow burned into the camera. That's very unlikely considering that those things are designed to image and videotape the sun. Somebody said earlier that it could be crack in the camera lens, I'm going to go with that.

Why would the shadows flicker on it in turn with the solar flars if it was just a crack oon the lens?

ETA: theres also a number of other questionable objects in the vid
