BREAKING 12.35 pm GMT Irish Republicans Terrorists have issued London with advance warning of a Bomb in London is for central London. Statement from MET Police this is a "Coded" warning.

Update:

Police have been carrying out a security search on the Mall after a coded warning of a bomb threat to central London from Irish Republicans. Officers first shut the area at 5am this morning (May 16) after reports a manhole cover was found disturbed near to Clarence House.Mall Security Promo Specialist divers with breathing apparatus have been on the scene searching underground. Security checks are now being carried out, which police have told LBC are focused on the Mall. The Metropolitan Police has also carried out a controlled explosion on nearby Northumberland Avenue on a suitcase which turned out not to be suspicious. It has now been given the all clear - but officers are still at a Government building on Carlton Terrace nearby. It follows a break in at the institute of Government last night which is now crime scene.

This is breaking just now will update with story when text is made available on BBC NEWS 24 only voice. There is speculation this is linked to the earlier bomb alert today in a drain in the Mall.

I hope that this does not stop the continuing peace process in Ireland and the queens first visit there tomorrow.

As we are about to bail out Ireland through the EU, perhaps she has gone to survey some land she doesn't yet own and the natives don't like it?

Its a great pity she doesn't visit some banks and sort them out first - she could start with the Roschild's as they are so close to her and help her manage her land ownership..

Coded warning Recieved last Night

A bomb threat warning has been received relating to central London today. The threat is not specific in relation to location or time. The Metropolitan Police Service, City of London Police and British Transport Police are working closely together and all officers have been advised to be a highly vigilant to ensure the safety of London. Policing operations and contingency planning remain under constant review and a wide range of overt and covert tactics will continue to be used in London. At this time Londoners should continue to go about their business as usual but we encourage the public to remain vigilant and report any information about unusual activity or behaviour which may be terrorist-related to the confidential Anti-Terrorist Hotline on 0800 789 321. In the event of an emergency always dial 999. The threat level from Irish-related terrorism has not increased and remains at substantial meaning that an attack is a strong possibility. The threat level was raised in September 2010 from moderate to substantial. This is lower than the overall threat to the UK from international terrorism which remains at severe.

IF, and I mean if, any attack would be low key and nothing like the Provisional IRA. The group does not have the numbers to carry out a sustainable campaign against the mainland.

I really hope so infinite.

With the recent years of "Islamic terrorism" many dont know or forgot the devastation that some of the bombing campiagns did.

Much Much bigger than any backpacks filled with chappati powder, c4, mortars on downing street churches, canary wharf etc etc.

Why on earth would anyone want that again even if deluded.

What concerns me is what they may have access to most of the guns may have been given back but the semtex c4 etc do they have access from the old stock?

Intelligence services have been investigation a possible link of Islamic extremist financing the Real IRA and others, in order to carry out attacks on the UK. The enemy of my enemy is my friend...

You therefore know more than me the dangers infinite and the current and past hsitory.

Please tell what is the mood amongst the population in the north are the hostilities growing again, is there the feeling or mood that things will start again?

I read to about terrorist links IRA and Islamic Terrorists, but as we know and you say its not limited to taht ana enemy of an enemy is a friend, they had semtex from Gaddaffi and logistical and finacial support from the USA, links with african drug cartels etc etc and this is why I am concerned what do they have access to?

You are right, they just appeared fresh from nowhere. No experience, no materials, no logistics, no intel.

Central London is "low key" a day before a Royal Visit.


All you are worried about is the "mainland" as long as no bombs fall there, things are fine and peaceful. The other bombs and killings are not a problem.

See a lot of this bothers me. Firstly there are literally DOZENS of targets you could hit that would cripple the UK, probably hundereds yet these "dissidents" (apprently white guys cant be terroists?) Like every other lemming on this planet just want to be on TV?

Really is that all they want? Media attention? seems a bit of a waste to me. Why do "terrorists" only attack the wrong people, nobody ever asked that question? WHY, is every "terrorist" on the planet a complete idiot? I mean they MUST be if they have no idea what they are doing.

It just bothers me that I KNOW various ways I could shut down this entire country down yet people who actually want do do this kind of harm cant figure it out? Its not rocket science, its not even regular science!

I suspect this threat like the 99% of them before this is completely manufactured! I often wonder why nobody notices that ONLY corporations & politicians beneift from terrorism, and thats a verifiable fact.
