“Time has come around to the point where the people are agreeing with much of what I’ve been saying for 30 years. So, I think the time is right,” said the 75-year-old Paul, who first ran for president as a Libertarian in 1988.

It’s Official: Ron Paul Can Beat Obama in 2012
Ron Paul can beat Barack Obama in 2012! If the elections were held today, Ron Paul would gain 41% of the vote compared to Obama’s 42% – statistical dead heat. Among independents, Paul has an astonishing 47% to 28% edge over the president.
Ron Paul Can Win In 2012! But Will He Actually Run?

because the other presidents have all never been wrong and have always done the right thing... right?
i hope he does win, but should he win and then end up being another reagan/clinton/bush i would not be even mildly shocked.
then again, if he wins and keeps his word, he could very well be another kennedy.
