Satellite Photos Show Likely Osama Bin Laden Compound

www.space.com

Satellite images of the region of Pakistan where Osama bin Laden was likely shot and killed have been released by Digital Globe, a satellite imagery provider.

The archival images show the city of Abbottabad, Pakistan, a region that includes the probable compound where Osama bin Laden was living. Late yesterday (May 1), President Barack Obama announced that U.S. forces had killed bin Laden in a targeted attack on his compound. [Photo: Abbottabad, Pakistan from space]

I find this image remarkable because, as you can see, Osama's compound was more or less surrounded by plowed feilds and other houses.

If you'll notice to the left of the image, there are a large number of buildings, either businesses or dwellings and to the right of the image pretty much the same thing, while not as much.

What I find amazing is that our intelligence gatherers tracked Osama's courier to this location and set up surveillance for several months for verification.

All I can say is kudos to the CIA and the NAVSPECWARCOM.

Anyone with Google Earth can see the compound. The coordinates are:

34°10'9.30"N 73°14'33.42"E

Turn on 3D mapping and you'll get a better view.

Nope note just you, there was a comparison on Reddit a few days back, blew my mind when I seen it. Has anyone even seen a prayer carpet/rug in the photos? I haven't been able to see one.
