I found this, and I believe this OBL, and birth certificate stuff, are just a smoke screen to take away from the fact that this guy is a horrible President... Where are all these supposed " Green Jobs" ? Why is gas still so high?
He hasn't dealt with any off the issue's that are going to move are country forward. No he is busy taking credit for other people's work ( as usual) What has this guy done, nothing.. we are gonna go into a double dip depression If the gas price's get much higher.

Even beyond his disastrous policies, President Obama is turning out to be a terrible politician. The great orator and master campaigner of 2008 is stumbling through his presidency, piling up gaffes and making odd political moves. Here are the Top 10 Barack Obama Blunderings:

1. Tone-deaf priorities: When the American people were desperate for jobs, President Obama used all his political capital to jam health care reform down their throats. Then, when voters spoke loud and clear in the midterm elections that they wanted government to live within its means, Obama put out a budget with increased spending. Do we really need an expensive high-speed rail system when the deficit is spiraling out of control?

2. Doesn’t know when to shut up: Obama has fallen in love with his own words so much that he doesn’t realize that sometimes it is best just to say nothing. For example, when he disparaged the Cambridge, Mass., police officer in the Henry Louis Gates Jr. arrest. Or when he needlessly inserted himself into the Ground Zero mosque controversy. And did he have to go from country to country apologizing for America's misdeeds.

I was watching the daily show, and it appears that Jon Stewart is back in Maximum Obama butt kissing mode...
Obama doesn't do anything, I don't get it.

As I've said in another thread, if Obama wants to take credit for UBL, then fine. But he has to take the blame for any deaths that occur as a result of these actions.
As for gas? Obamas' solutions are to buy a "greener" car, drive less, plan ahead.

Leadership qualities are lacking. But that's what you get when you elect a community organizer for president.

How do you want him to lower prices? He doesn't control the market... He can't just say "hey, lower them prices"

Gas prices are determined, in part, by speculators that look at future market forces that may impact gas prices. If Obama were to open reserves, decrease taxes on gas, or to allow drilling and oil exploration, these factors would have a positive impact on gas prices.

I normally avoid these Obama threads but this one has sucked me in today....

1. If you recall in Zeitgeist Addendum - Peter Joseph has demonstrated that high speed rail will be the key to breaking free of global Oil dependence.

2. Obama goes from country to country because he is a hypnotist, it's easier to hypnotize someone if you are in direct contact with them

3. It's only natural for it to seem last minute when one waits for the critical moment to perform a certain action to achieve maximum effect.

4. I don't know enough about that one to comment

5. Happiness DOES take priority in life, agree that he should focus on the happiness of America - but you know how it goes, a Sick Doctor can't cure anyone.

6. I don't know enough about that one to comment

7. Didn't he have a hotshot speech writer before?

8. Seriously, would you do it differently? Gotta enjoy the position you are in while you still can.

9. I guess he didn't get around much before he was President

10. Maybe being an upper class citizen for such a long time has these effects on a person

I know that He has nothing to do with OPEC, but Bush was expected too. the point is are we to be fooled by the Media telling us that we should be thankful for high gas prices, to spend more time with family. It's total BS this guy gets a free pass for everything.

Look I have lived in Illinois long enough to watch him become a horrible state Senator, to a worthless US Senator,
to a abomination of a President....

Funny that you say the 'birther' issue is a distraction from more 'important issues', like 'green jobs' and the price of gas, two fairly petty issues int he scope of things.

And all this talk about ANY POTUS being able to effect gas prices is more absurd distraction. The US is not sitting on tons of untapped oil to any degree that could effect the market, and even IF they were, tapping them NOW, only means we have less oil LATER. Not exactly a well-thought solution.

As far as lowering gas taxes, then how do you pay for all the things those taxes pay for, like road maintenance? Will the 'free market' repair our freeways?

not to mention taxes are a fraction of the price, and even removing them entirely will do little to alleviate the larger problem of speculation.

Dont want high gas prices? Invest in alternatives.

I have many problems with the Obama Admin, but I tire of these petty, partisan 'bash Obama" threads with no substance.

Where's the meat, partisans?

They would be petty, perhaps, if he had dealt with them. Placing moratoriums on the Gulf oil rigs puts you directly in crosshairs of discontent, IMO. I could care less about 'green jobs'. except those jobs that bring in the green. The birther issue will continue to plague him as long as he isn't honest about it.

In a nutshell, the American people have been duped into voting for the absolute worst President this world has ever seen! I can't find one thing he has done that merits even tacit approval!!

Here's a thought.

Maybe if people looked at their own top ten blunders and focused on making their own lives better instead of blaming somebody else the whole world would improve.

Just sayin'.

Agreed. The only antidote to our nation's problems is personal responsibility and concrete action.

Those who just blame are just perpetuating their own apathy.

Can you explain how so? Supply is not impacting prices one bit so why would opening reserves and allowing for more exploration help? They have been handing out new permits anyway. So two of your solutions have no impact. The other, lowering taxes? So the oil companies that are making record profits should get to keep charging what they want but we should stop funding our own infrastructure? Who benefits?

That is not actually 100% true....We have more oil in the U.S. than there is in 10 Iraq's....All he has to do is push the stupid environmentalists out of the way and start oil drilling in the U.S. and all prices will drop substantially!!

Environmentalists are not stopping drilling to any significant measure. That's a myth perpetuated by the speculators to justify high gas prices.

Want lower gas prices? Invest in alternatives.

Since supply has nothing to do with the price going up right now, can you please explain how this would help?
Apparently I missed a very basic part of economics that explains that when you have abundant supply and price is not supply driven, adding to the supply actually costs more for processing and then LONG TERM storage. Someone help me out.

It costs the U.S. tons of money to ship oil over seas to get it back to the U.S. and then storage and wages, and without showing the Trillions of barrels of oil in the U.S. the supply is shown shorter than what it actually is. Think about this though for a second, why drill in the U.S. to save Americans money?? They are profiting trillions of dollars a year from this and leaving our private supply alone.

There are answers for these prices and we need SOMEONE to step up and take control.

Since the arguments are being made by partisan Republicans while a Democrat is in office.

There are indeed answers. But just drilling is not really one of them. It's just rhetoric.

As far as stepping and taking control, under what authority? How does the POTUS,or Congress regulate oil prices? That sounds A LOT like socialism.

Call me what you want, but I am a realist. There are answers for our oil prices and if everyone sits back and deals with it, nothing will ever change!! We will go bankrupt trying to get to work and back...
