I am sad to say, after watching events for much longer than I like to think of.....LOL......that we....as a country.....dont deserve what little freedom we have left....much less more.

Where our founding fathers said..........Give me liberty or give me death

We say please please protect us from terrorists, pot smokers, Mexicans, communists, militias, bikers, more mexicans, drunks, girl scout cookies, the homeless, gay marriage, cock fights, blacks, any brown people I left out, the KKK, cigarettes, Muslims, Christmas displays, porn, hookers, tax dodgers, canadians, china, russia, libya, afghanistan, iraq, iran, south park, guns, drugs, booze, speeders, switchblades, brass knuckles, etc....etc...etc

We are willing to undergo ANY indignity, give up ANY right, give up ANY freedom of choice, etc..........just to be safe from those awful people, things and ideas.

We stroke our chains and lick the boots that kick us.....all the while mouthing meaningless cliches about the land of the free and the home of the brave. We allow ourselves to play the ass and elephant game and point fingers at each other while the corporations, politicians and bankers laugh at us and ship our jobs overseas.

Our founding fathers would spit on us and we.....as a nation.....dont deserve the freedom they fought and died to give us.

Or perhaps we didnt want to have all those indignities, but they were forced upon us?

indeed. you said it sir.

there should be a mass reform of some type...one that involves removing the busy bodies, nosy neighbors, soccer moms, and whatever else i forgot to add.

they ruined everything by being the mass majority and allowing our country to become as it is while the rest of us sane folk who mind our own business and do what it takes to get by every day kept saying no..but since we look like or probably fall into all the categories you listed...those damn soccer moms, busy bodies, nosy neighbors, and paranoid crazies got their way.

shame on us for liking our liberty and freedom, but also shame on us more for not trying to prevent these pansies from taking it from us.

During the American Revolution there were people that were too afraid to fight for our freedom because they were intimidated by the British troops actions toward patriots at that time. Yet they sure enjoyed the freedom that Washington's troops and the other brave people fought for. In the Roman days, every citizen of Rome was also a soldier when called up to defend their land. I think we need to follow that example more.

Unless we are the PUPPET MASTERS that control the world, we will never experience TRUE freedom.

Speak for yourself.I say give me liberty or give me death.Like our founding fathers I do not fear dying for what I believe in.I am not the idiot who asked the government to spoon feed the masses.Send me a terrorist I'll give him what we gave the minions of King George,a lead enema. And a box to spend eternity in.

In fact any one who doesn't like the way the country is get off your but and do something about it.I spent years trying.I'd like to see some one else step up and do something for a change.Or you can move and leave the mess for the rest who still love this country.

Our "Founding Fathers"

Knew all about this stuff before it even happened.

They planned it this way.

Only a handful of historic figures actually did something about what they saw in the upcoming future.

And the whole revolution thing was not for "freedom." There is none since the crown (England )still technically owns the U.S. Corporation.

The Evidence of the crown owning the U.S. is the Lawyers BAR Cards.

www.examiner.com...

There is stuff all over the internet about it.

Learn how your government works. Why do you think they took civics classes out of the schools.Think about that for awhile.

My mind often drifts to the painting of George Washington at Valley Forge when a subject like the OP is discussed. The foot solider with his feet wrapped in rags, frost bitten, giving his ALL for the dream of Freedom. Then I look at US, how ashamed we should be. Me included. I have never taken up my musket and stood against tyranny. It is so true that when viewed through the eyes of our forbearers we do not deserve freedom.

Forgive Us

I personally think your statement is too broad.

Now, if you would have said "Americans that support the erosion of the constitution don't deserve freedom" I could get behind you 100%

I couldn't agree more but the fact is SOME of us still want and need freedom... Just because others didn't know how to handle freedom doesn't mean I will fall to the same fate as many nations before us have

agreed. I believe that the Constitution is a non negotiable and iron clad document and we are slowly witnessing the erosion of all of our rights. I never will understand the people that want the freedoms, but will do nothing to keep them. As i said earlier in a post, the citizens of Rome were all soldiers when called upon to defend their land and I hope that someday all Americans will share that attitude.

Here's a novel idea, DON'T VOTE!! Remember that old saying- "What if there was a war and nobody came"? What if there was an election and nobody came? We need to start from the bottom and work our way up. Start with the council members and mayor of your own town. Have a town meeting and don't invite the politicians. Ask the most successful and least corrupt businessman of your town if he or she would like to be mayor. Do the same for the governor of your state.

Things in this country need to be run like a business and they need to stay on the local and state levels as much as possible. Arizona wants to ship something to Germany? Or vice versa?. Fine. Do it. Just keep Washington DC out of the mix.

This country is full of smart people who can really make a difference if they want to, but they cop an attitude like yours and the intelligence goes to waste because they don't implement it. People where I live know where I stand on this issue but they act like they need someone else to take the bull by the horns and lead them. I don't want to lead a horse to water to make him drink. I want a horse who knows where the water is and will take himself there when he's thirsty.

Besides which, if you lead people like that, they will look to you the way they look to the current political "leaders", with blind eyes and blind faith. It sickens me. It really does.

So to the OP, I agree with you 1,000%. The majority of people here in the U.S. don't deserve freedom. Why? because they don't want it. They want the easy way out and be led like the sheeple they are. I don't care what they say because I see what they do and it's pathetic.

I starred and flagged you for that line alone. Classic. That should be the new motto for this country because, truth be told, that's how the majority of the rest of the world sees us anyway.
