Before I went to work this morning,
one of the morning TV shows gave out the recipe that has been a secret for 150 years.
They spoke to a guy from the US, who had looked into this.
Then they made the mix on TV.

For almost 150 years the recipe to coca cola has been a tightly held secret. It's claimed these documents from a newspaper in 1979 are a complete list of ingredients.

So this morning, the hosts put on their lab coats and show you how to make homemade Coca Cola.

The secret recipe

* Fluid extract of Coca 3 drams USP

* Citric acid 3 oz

* Caffeine 1oz

* Sugar 30 (it is unclear from the markings what quantity is required)

* Water 2.5 gal

* Lime juice 2 pints 1 qrt

* Vanilla 1oz

* Caramel 1.5oz or more to colour

* 7X flavour (use 2oz of flavour to 5 gals syrup):

* Alcohol 8oz

* Orange oil 20 drops

* Lemon oil 30 drops

* Nutmeg oil 10 drops

* Coriander 5 drops

* Neroli 10 drops

* Cinnamon 10 drops

Coca Cola Recipe

I haven't touched the stuff for over 5 years, but i know some who dont' function without a hit.
Maybe those individuals may have wanted this in the 'Survival' forum

Thanks for sharing! Whether it's the actual recipe or not, it would be interesting to try and concoct this

Unfortunately I think extract of coca might be a bit hard to come by...

What is this nefarious ingredient? Does it involve human sacrifice or animal blood?

Or do we just ad lib this part and... say add Onion flavour? Perhaps Garlic??

7X flavour.... Hmmmmmm 7Xelicious!!

Oh ha! You fuddled the paste, 7X is the last 7 ingredients AFTER the 7X list.

Oh well then, it has alcohol, it must be alright!!

This is the original Coke too. None of that high fructose corn syrup Coke that's on the shelves today. I would say double the sugar and you'll have Pepsi.

Replace your sugar with aspartame, for added cancer!

Well, you could try digging around some filthy industrial complex for some 'aspartame'

great find, but i cant stand that Lisa Wilkinson chick or the guy whats his name .. Karl Stefanovic .

in fact all these morning shows are so insipid. it really drives me insane.
i used to yell at kochie on 7...
he used to be a great interviewer and economics journalist, now he and in fact all the presenters on these shows are just glorified women magazine articles. (for example, sunrise is SPONSORED by women day)

that being said occasionally i will force myself to watch them for segments such as these. its hard to Ham-fist a lighter segment!

i really want to try to make my own. they substituted cocoa (powder, mixed to a liquid) instead of cocoa leaf extract...

To me the interesting part is that in reality Coke had many Natural ingredients present.
I find the last few ingredients very informative,
anyway it would be fun to play around with a number of the ingredients
as long as I can add my favorite Rum.

hmmmmm good
