wikileaks.spreadshirt.com...

Official WikiLeaks merchandise store for The United States. Shop for WikiLeaks t-shirts, hoodies, laptop sleeves, stickers, mugs, and more. Help support WikiLeaks and Julian .

I guess we're supposed to be rocking wikileaks gear now. Every day, wikileaks smells more and more like a corporation. Oh well. I guess it's for a good cause.

Haha, I don´t know what to think about this. It´s turning into disneychannel. I don´t think this is what Julian had in mind in the beginning. I´m a supporter, but I don´t like the the way this is heading. WL and Julian is now one and the same.

Hmm... never heard of that vendor before... I am surprised they didn't go with CafePress... they seem to be a bit more ubiquitous. Maybe CafePress turned them down?

I find it funny though.. You can buy WikiLeaks merchandise from that site using your paypal or mastercard (among other things).

Nothing says "I support espionage against my own country" like a wikileaks shirt.

Do the shirts come with bail money?

To sell clothes and souvenirs online might be an interesting and "un-prohibitable" fundraiser for Wikileaks.

It doesnt turn them immediatly into a Star Wars Jar Jar Binks Mug type corporation.

Sporting such clothing will lead to direct "First Amendment" challenges.... just wait and see.

Ideally, one would think that Wikileaks could survive with commercialism.... evidently, someone doesn't think so.

Money, money, money..... someone receives it, and another passes it on.

Presumably, their will be actual "profit' in the mix now..... bye bye moral high ground.

I'm just wondering could anyone set up this shop, a supporter of wikileaks perhaps? I dunno but the online company seems to be spreadshirt.com. Would there be a patent on the wikileaks logo that would stop people from been able to print and sell t-shirts with them on it? Just wondering because I can basically go to any T-shirt making online store and get them to design any t-shirt I want... so it could be wikileaks or just a supporter IMAO

I disagree. One of the things Wikileaks claimed when I first found out about them is that how they survived was using the laws corporate interests had put in place against them. The loopholes corporations wrote for themselves, Wikileaks appropriated.

So now, you have an organization who depended on donations. And, their donations have been cut off, by corporations. What would you assume? I would not assume that Wikileaks is just in it for profit. I would assume that they are going to try to use all the laws that corporations have written in protecting their right to do business to allow them to bypass the blockade against their donations.

Wear the T shirt or not, its likely just a way to allow donations to come back in. IF it is indeed Wikileaks selling the items.
