Move along, citizen, nothing to see here?

Perhaps.

Two Bmw's in two days within six miles, three to four blocks from DISA.

This one is blamed on a blow torch left in the trunk?

Conincidence? Something to keep an eye on...
In light of everything else going down.

A white BMW exploded around 8:15 a.m. this morning in the Penrose neighborhood. Police say they believe the blast was accidental.....

The car was parked in front of a single family home, but in proximity of two large apartment complexes: Dorchester Towers and 2121 Columbia Pike Apartments. It is three to four blocks away from the high-security headquarters of the Defense Information Systems Agency.

Bolded Emphasis Mine.

Hummm.....

Ashley W. Turton, 37, an energy company lobbyist and one-time top aide to former U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.), was found dead shortly before 5 a.m. in a burning BMW, the back end of which was partly out of the garage, as if the vehicle had been entering or leaving when the fire started

Wow, interesting.

BMW's are nice, but I prefer other cars.

So no BMW's for me

Plus the new cars make people reliant with all the features.

What happened to simplicity? Oh well.

Who the hell leaves a blow torch in their trunk?
Sorry but I doubt I would have a blow torch in my BMW let alone forget about it in my trunk. Just saying.

Oh yeah, and he left the tank in there too.

A police source has also told ARLnow.com that the car belonged to a worker who had an acetylene tank, used for welding, in the trunk.

Did you see the pics, the back half of the car is like....missing.

I would imagine there are thousands and thousands of blowtorches in the trunks of cars.

I mean, lots of trades use them, not everyone takes their tools out of their car.

Nope, that is a truly sad excuse. I guess possible, but I doubt it..

Dry run, it is not difficult to do such things, expect more to occur. That is the pattern of such, test and prod the defense to see if any weak point or undefended sides show.

Not good in any case, "accidental" or not, the threat is still real.

Yeah the pictures are crazy, but not surprising. Acetylene is highly explosive. If you know anyone that is a welder by trade they will tell you that it is some really wicked stuff.

I agree -
Test and prod.

I just got chills down my arms when I read this -
I think of Ashley Tuton,

Something just does not sit right....

Authorities said her death appears to have resulted from a low-speed crash, an unknown medical condition, the fire, or some combination of the three.

Guess he wont ever do that again - Huh.

I would not want to be paying that insurance bill for the next three.

Ouch.

I don't know if anyone has thought about this, but has it dawned on anyone that the explosions could be related to a fault in the vehicles themselves? A faulty electrical device (and believe me BMW's have tonnes of wiring / electrical components in them) that could have triggered an explosion?

I would imagine such a fault in BMW vehicles would tarnish their reputation / profits.

That is an idea, but very unprobable, as these vehicle are renown for their reliability, even to floating on water instead of sinking in some cases.

Check your trunk.
In fact, I would do it often...like before I drove it.
