Can West News Services, owners of several Canadian newspapers including the National Post as well as the Global Television Network commissioned a series of polls to determine how young people feel about the issues that were facing the country’s voters. Dubbed "Youth Vote 2004", the polls, sponsored by the Dominion Institute and Navigator Ltd. were taken with a view to getting more young people involved in the political process.

In one telephone poll of teens between the ages of 14 and 18, over 40 per cent of the respondents described the United States as being "evil". That number rose to 64 per cent for French Canadian youth.

I'll wager American teens feel the same way, especially those nearing 18.

Notice how Frenche Canadians hate us more. The French hate us I tell you. But yeah it does matter since them wipper-snappers (i just had to say that) are going to be tommorows working class and tommorows voters.

A poll of 14-18 year olds gives us a gage of what they're thinking, but it's meaningless otherwise. How many of you still believe what you did when you were 14-18? When I was 14 I probably thought everyone over 40 was evil.

outsider- true, but its still pretty obvious that if over 40% think we suck, we've got some issues. I wonder what the results would be if we took that poll here in the US. Uh oh.....Im thinking an ATS "How much does America suck?" poll is in order!

The question is, what was the question? Sometimes these polls can be deceptive..

e.g. on the whole is the USA?
a/totally good
b/somewhat good
c/ok
e/somewhat evil
f/totally evil

Yeah they can be deceptive. I'm thinkin' the question was probably something like:

'Given the Iraqi prisioner abuse scandal is the US evil?'

Or some slanted question like that.

lol, evil how? whats with that? if america was so bad i doubt canada would exist or mexico or cuba or many countries nearby, it would all be conquered and ruled as a dictatorship and the middle east would either be destroyed or conquered and given to israel, china and russia would be our allies and noone would be free, any weak nation would be taken over, we would give south korea to north korea, taiwan to china and american warfare would not be the way it is, seriously these teens are misguided to think such a thing, if america was evil it wouldnt even be a question nor would such a thing be allowed to be asked.

Canada is so liberal, a socialistic government. I'm sure that their youth is bombarded with anti-Bush propoganda. If only they were taught that if it wasn't for the US economy and military, the Canada they enjoy today would be quite different. Thanks to the evil USA!

Iam canadian. I think your country as a people are not evil at all. But your gouvernement definatly has its own agenda. Is this evil, naaaaa. But you guys do have to admit you have some sort of weird hard-on for oil!

Well our goverment likes oil. Me personally I want an alternative to oil. But yeah in a small way it might matter because what if those kids get into public office. Oh well its not like we get a lot of trade from them.

I don't think that the American people is evil or that the US is evil, now what our administration is doing around the world is percived by other as evil and instead of pointing to the adminstration the rest of the world points to the entire country and his population as evil.

Well don't be to hasty to point fingers at the poor educational system of this country but the true is and this is not a joke,

When I started to work for the county education here in Albany GA. other teachers thought that every Spanish person was Mexican, when I told them that I was Puerto Rican, this same teachers, and I am taking teachers as teaching our youth, asked me if Puerto Rico was attach to Mexico and If I needed a green card to be in the US.

Now what that tells you, if our teachers can not tell Geography what do you think our children can tell, you are right JacKatMtn they think Canada is just another state in the north.

Who cares what a bunch of weed-smoking(not that there is anything wrong with that according to www.potstar.com) anarchist punks in Canada think about the US. Maybe they want to challenge our 14-18 year olds to a little war in 3 or 4 years. Canada has some oil fields as well as diamond fields, plus canadian bacon.....ummmmmmm canadian bacon, so I am all for a premptive strike against Canada. You heard it, they hate us. Could be just breeding future terrorists. We should take them out now.
