Menendez Likens Tax Fight to Negotiating With Terrorists

Senate Democrats lashed out at Republicans on Friday, accusing them of holding the nation’s economic prosperity hostage for the benefit of the wealthy and likening the GOP to a terrorist organization.

With the White House and Republicans appearing to be close to finalizing a deal for a temporary extension of all the Bush-era tax cuts, Senate Democrats have become increasingly frustrated with their inability to pressure the GOP on the issue, and their anger was on display during a press conference Friday morning.

What I find interesting is this use of the word 'terrorist' - again. The Dems are really starting to look like a crazed gang who scream 'terrorist' everytime they are thwarted or criticized or exposed. It's a bit like the medieval royal 'Off with his head' that hysterical kings used to shout when they felt their authority is questioned.

It's also a symptom of extreme, psychotic narcisissm.

Democrats actually having balls and standing up to the Republicans? I never thought I'd live to see this day.

It was hoped that he would eventually ball up and be a man...for 2 years now people on the left have been kicking him and telling him to get mad, to open his eyes, and to drive home the agenda he was elected to do. He makes good speeches, but his actions and damn near turncoat tendencies are making many on the left simply not want to vote.

Better to be a minority of principles than a majority of weakness. Obama is no longer standing for democratic ideals. Sometimes you need to face the fire, which he seems unwilling to do overall.
No public option, No deficit cutting by tax rollback, no repeal to much of the patriot act, etc...his endless compromises have alienated many already.

and ya, we may be on the opposite end of the spectrum, but I think we both can agree that a president needs to be bold in his approach...I respect a person standing on principles and forcing an agenda, even if I disagree with it, verses meekly begging for some stuff he wants from the other side...at least if he lost the battle through the filibuster and ended up getting nothing, the record would show he held his head high and fought for a belief verses kneel to adversity.

Democrats acting like they want to cut taxes HA!!!!!!!! What a hilarious thought!!!! Obama doesnt care about what he said to get elected. He is there now and that is all that matters to him. He has been able to shove his agenda to his liking with his minions of Reid and Pelosi. Whats that I sense?? Could it be CHANGE in the air???? Everything looks so red now.... I say if the Republicans get drunk off their new power and ignore us like the Dems did this time around, its time for a 3rd party, ... wonder who could fill that spot?

How can they fail?
They said -nothing- they promised -nothing- and no doubt, they will absolutely fulfill their promise by doing -nothing-.

they don't even have to show up to work...simply put a post-it note on their chair reading -NO- and take the year off.

Face it...Dems suck, Reps suck harder. makes a person simply not want to vote either way because they are not arguing why their side is great...rather, they are arguing why the other side sucks a little bit more than their side.

We need to stop this silly pretend game of democracy...it has not worked...epic political fail. Reform to have a technocracy would be my call.

Like in any toltaltarian government, anyone who disagrees with the "rulers" is now a terrorist. I guess that goes for the politically incorrect politicans, too and that "progress" is no surprise. You see the criminalization of politically incorrect ideas is all the time in socialist governments and that includes Britian and Canada. Socialism can not survive with the exposure and compeition of free speech. It is like an atheist Utopian belief structure like a religion.

What baffles me is why didn’t the Dems do this before the election

Are the dems taking a dive?
Remember many of them are rich too.

If he caves on this its over. He ran on this and the progressives overwhelmingly elected him to do this thus showing him that they supported this idea. Do the right thing Obama and stand up to the republicans. If you don't your done because your base will have given up on you.

Am I mistaken or do the dems still control both houses and the executive? Stop blaming republicans and start blaming the weekminded liberals who are clinging to their political ambitions. Or maybe you should go on and play coy just like them so you can have another opportunity to try to assert your progressive agenda. Mark my words, Americans will never allow for this fraud to continue, and this political coup has almost run its term. The winds have changed, and soon, the rats will follow obama into the ocean, except - we will pay the piper this time.

Well, "Racist" was losing it's meaning. Remember any opposition to the messiah was racism. I guess now we have moved up to terrorism, it was only a matter of time.

Yes, and 'national security' is the other one! It would be interesting to do a poll and see what most Americans think is the greatest threat to their security right now.
