Within a month of the nation being attacked by terrorists, legislation that combated terrorism by suspending constitutional guarantees of free speech was championed by a popular leader. It was called the “Decree on the Protection of People and State,” and it passed despite the objections of concerned legislators and civil libertarians.

A new national agency was formed within a year that coordinated police and federal security. It consolidated unprecedented power under one leader. No, this is not President Bush’s newly won Department of Homeland Security—it was Hitler’s Office of Fatherland Security, the Reichssicherheitshauptamt and Schutzstaffel, better known simply as the SS.

There is no question in my mind, that America is reading from the Nazi handbook with how the events of 9/11 has shaped the "New Reality" for America. The above article reflects my own feelings so I felt it proper to share it for the debate.

Are we seeing a more sinister face of America through the Patriot Act, Homeland Security and Fema Camps? Is it just me that sees all of this a much larger version of Hitler's Dream, not the American Dream? It's been a very slow moving rise to power, but the success of fascism in the US has certainly not gone unnoticed.

How must we live our lives knowing the Enemy now lives Within? That somehow a war was fought through deception, stealth and false flags, a war on the American people? People who are now criminals in their own country, terrorists for supporting the freedom and liberty that their fore-fathers fought and died for.

I cannot believe my eyes. What happened to the America I thought I knew and loved? We have no room for tyranny and the suffering it brings to those it seeks to control and condemn. When will the knocks on doors begin, and people start to disappear into camps in the name of Homeland Security?

When will the beast turn inward and consume Americans? The teeth are certainly showing through the sheep's deceptive smile.

The parallels are there in so many ways. People need to learn from history and realize that secret police never turn out as a good thing. Look at SS, look at KGB, look at Stasi. Same stuff different day.

Now homeland security has made it their priority to shut down websites for copyright infringement. It just goes to show you that they were really set up as a security arm to protect the interests of corporations. Nothing else. Not you or me... Besides I don't want their protection. That's what guns are for.

lol. I dont know if I would call Homeland Security Nazis but I say they have some powers that are unconstitutional. I am a little bit mixed on the issue though. I think the fact you can invert the x-ray photos through airport security into full shot nudes because they are saved (even while the government said they werent) is a little bit messed up. But in the end result its worth it to sacrifice some freedom in exchange for the security I think. I mean terrorists use our own system of government against us. If you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to worry about. Im not scared of them in the slightest. I trust my government to do me good when it comes to national security.

Exactly. This is 1933 all over again. Just the sophistication and technological reach is far superior to our previous predecessors of Tyranny. The TSA scanners and groping has helped to wake up some people, people who before thought I was a tad bit to fringe for calling out the wolf. I know Hitler's Nazi party was not Hitler's brain child, this is an ideal that has a long standing interests across the board.

It surfaces in the US mirrored in nearly every way since the fall of Germany after WWII. History repeats itself and this certainly is no exception. Just this time it's not Germany, it's the US that has taken the rise to Fascism to the next level.

TSA Scanners, bio-feedback neural scanners, CCTV and ever expanding spy-net to observe the American People and profile, gather intel and process who's worth saving, who is the bad dogs of dissent. It's all about protecting this new fascism, and not the American people. The sad truth is most will realize this is the case after the jaws clamp shut.

It's horrific, for my view of history and such despots as Stalin, Hitler and Pol Pot... what we have today may be more global and far reaching then just a simple to name individual. It's a beast out of control and ready to consume it's pound of flesh.

That is your first mistake... you should never trust something you do not control, but clearly controls you. Know the difference between freedom and fascism, you'll find very little freedom anymore in this new America. It's a very slow continental prison camp being erected all around you in every possible way... for your own protection or own slavery.

Germans trusted Hitler, and his Government... look what happened. How do you know such a reality is outside the scope of this new security act for America. All the signs are clearly there, the parallels between Hilter's Germany and a new 4th Reich in America is literally text-book plagiarism.

National Security Stamp - the new Naziism

It shows how everything is justified under the National Security Stamp.

Not much different than the Nazi German policy.

The Nazis went as far as prosecuting Jews, then justifying that prosecution under National Security.

Instead of Jew's it will be "Terrorists" and we are already being conditioned through programs like the "View" that the terrorists are the Americans who still stand for their personal freedoms and liberties. Everytime I hear an American labelled a "Terrorist" I cringe. This is propaganda at it's worse kind. Making US the enemy of which we are now programmed to hate and want to fight. It's a sick twisted turn for the War on Terror to actually be the War on Americans.

This is why I cannot and do not stand Tyranny, I cannot support it period. There are somethings worth dying for and getting rid of Fascism is certainly calling me out. I can't live in that kind of a reality knowing our history. What is happening today is just wrong. Completely wrong. I can't understand why anyone would support this... probably because they are ignorant and simply do not see the game at hand.

Your Very Valid points aside, I would be perfectly willing to participate in Validation.

I mean really , my family has direct lineage to the Society of Pilgrims who first endeavored on this

Social,Economic,Political,and Religious Structure. My Sons are direct descendants of Wild Bill

Hickock. For Real. I will gladly accept validation and U.S. National Identification ANY day.

This way, Homeland Security knows who I am, and everything about me. Right off the Bat.

That way they can focus taxpayer dollars and potentially invest even more on true threats

to National Security. I do not travel frequently these days, but I have traveled greatly in the past.

I would Much rather have a Validation Card than to deal with the harassment. Lets call it what it is.

The big Question is how does one differentiate harassment from protection?

In this day and age ,it is often difficult to define.

Personally, I think the we(The Pentagon)should kick the ass of the rest of the world so conclusively, that this whole process of humiliating U.S.Taxpayers(especially the middle class), will disappear quickly between the chapters of history .By the way, We give more Aid to those around the the world than ANY ALL OF YOU OTHER

Wow, I had no idea the 4th Reich had so many supporters on ATS.

National Socialism didn't end with with WW2.

It moved it's money overseas and patiently regathered it's forces through the banks and multinational corporations.

The United States is now a National Socialist state, just like Nazi Germany.

If you don't believe this then read Rise of the Fourth Reich by Jim Marrs, a scrupulously researched book that details how the nazis infiltrated our government and now run the show. The symbols of America have not changed but the leaders and the direction have. They quite simply bought their way into power, that is until 9/11 when they staged a coup against the American people and have instituted a shadow government.

We have been under a state of National Emergency since 9/11, renewed every 2 years, even by Obama. FEMA (Homeland Security) IS the government now.

By all means prove me wrong, anyone!

I would Much rather have a Validation Card than to deal with the harassment.

That's the idea behind it. Annoy the hell out of you until you cave in and say: "Yes! Here's everything about me, just don't bother me anymore!"

This is a VERY dangerous mindset.

What if to get the validation card you'd have to neutralize a certain amount of domestic "terrorists"(only defined to you as those without validation cards who don't want validation cards)? You're 'promised' that once you receive said card no government will bother you for the rest of your life.

Dangerous to say the VERY least.

We have no Constitutional government anymore. It's just a show so that the people stay in their slumber and won't realize that their country has been stolen. As for those of you who "don't care" or think that somehow government excess is justified in the name of National security are either A) IGNORANT or B) PAID SHILLS who work for those who have stolen our government.

Wanted to write on this matter but, thought some one will offended the C.I.A beginnings were actually made by some SS / Nazi guys I had read a book 20 yrs ago about it was named "Master Spy - by Glenn" that is all I remember if some in the forum can shed light on this it will help.Correct me if i am wrong.

It's my understanding that SS translated = Super foot soldier. Maybe the homeland security are indeed fanatical Nationalists, which in my opinion isn't exactly terrible but the SS is something to our marines. Gestapo on the other hand might be closer to our Homeland security.
As an SS you were charged with invading foreign lands, proving your absolute loyalty to the Fuhrer by fighting on the front lines or slaughtering the Jew in concentration camps.

You are so correct, and it's so sad to see such a great country fall into fascism. Obama is just furthering the agenda set out by the Bush administration, this evil embodies both halves of the two-faced paradigm. It used to be good cop / bad cop now it's just full on tyranny.

Now with HS shutting down the internet, we may be on our last vestige of communication and free speech. First "copyright" material, next "terrorist propaganda websites". They are moving fast to restrict travel and free-speech. Exactly as Hitler has done!

Wake up before ATS has a Homeland Security Image!

The more I start reading all the threads on Homeland Security, the more vivid this portrait of Nazi Germany's rise gives new light in the face of America's plight with fascism.

The enemy within is the problem, it's hijacked this great nation and the people are now the subjects of tyrannical new laws that invade and violate the 4th amendment. I was very uneasy about the Fema Camps having known about this since Rex 84 and the Iran/Contra scandal. The fear of dissent by this fascist government is fanatical and to the point of preparing hundreds of detainment camps in the event of a mass wake-up by the American people.

They have prepared the stage and are putting the final nails in the coffin of freedom. Martial Law? I was very sceptical about such an idea, but now seeing what is happening today with TSA... maybe it has already happened?

An interesting note, back when the DHS was first formed, I wasn't even awake yet. Still, I turned to my significant other at the time and said, "Department of Homeland Security? That sounds just like the Fatherland to me." To which my SO agreed. It definitely caused me to start paying a lot more attention, even though I wouldn't fully wake up until '08.

Pertaining to the closing of websites: Am I the only one who's first thought was "They're ramming it through to try and take down WL before they can publish those cables."?

I just love that quote in skyline, "Hey look, it's homeland security" I mean, who tf says that!!? If I saw a bunch of choppers and military planes fly by, I'd say something like, "Oh look, it's THE ARMY" since when did homeland security have planes? If they do then, forgive me, because I'm just a super average american, so if I don't know this, Skyline is here to teach me.
