Here is an interesting article about how Bleach works.


The researchers found that hypochlorous acid, the active ingredient in bleach, causes the unfolding of proteins in bacteria in much the same was that heat stress or fever does. Those denatured proteins then clump together irreversibly into a mass in living cells, similar to what happens to proteins when you boil an egg, according to the researchers


So maybe the "thing" in your Bleach is a Mass of living cells..

if you take some ice cream and leave it sitting on your counter for about 6 hours, you will come back to find it looking kind of like that. The reason has to do with the wood cellulose used in ice cream lately.

I think you have wood cellulose that leached into the bleach, and has been coagulating. That is what it does. It is why they put it in ice cream.
