For those who don't know the history

Summary: On the morning of August 9, 1980, several security guards at the Manzano Weapons Storage Area, adjacent to Kirtland AFB, saw a bright light descend in (a) restricted area. A fourth guard observed a disk shaped light in the vicinity of a bunker used to store nuclear weapons. The incident resulted in a report being filed with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) at Kirtland.

So here we have a well documented and confirmed case at a Nuclear weapons facility
but the folks here at ATS tend to skip over this second and less famous UFO file from New Mexico...

PS anyone else take note that while it was seen landing... no one saw it take off again????

I did search the threads too and while this case did get mentioned a few times
Unlike Roswell or the Dulcie Base who have Lot's and lots of threads...

why does this story only ever get honorable mention???

well anyway here it is for all to learn about...

I think there might be one somewhere in the bowels of this forum, I'll see if I have it bookmarked and I'll have a look for it.

Nuclear facility cases are amazing to me and nto enough attention is given to them imo. I'm glad this was bumped. I try very hard not to talk in absolutes so I will say the reason I love these cases is because if it is truly a visiting alien species checking out our nukes, the fact that the possible "they" have only ever seemed to take them temporarily offline could speak to their intentions. To me it seems peaceful.
