5 year old boy in the US selling drawings on Etsy to help cover the cost of his Leiukemia treatments... another face of the US health care crisis.

Well I found this on www.wired.com...

Im not gonna talk about the 'US Health Care Crisis'. Which is really in a crisis at the moment.

But instead talk about this 5 year old boy, who is at the moment, suffering from Leiukemia, and is just trying to fund enough to cover his treatments.

I for one will purchase a drawing. And hope for the best for him.

Here's the website if you'd like to check it out.

AidansMonsters

Hello! Thanks for visiting Aidan’s Monsters!
Aidan is a 5 year old boy who was recently diagnosed with leukemia. He loves to draw and he loves monsters. Here is where we sell some of his original drawings as well as prints to raise money for his medical bills.
If you have any questions feel free to message me.

WOW!

That's the saddest thing I've read all week.

Poor little guy. My husband is a pediatrician and I see my fair share of heart breaking patients, but he's trying to sell his own drawings?

I'm going to buy one and send in a donation.

Thanks for posting, it's important we support these sorts of things.

Yeah, about 10mins ago when I came upon the website, there were 10 drawings for sale. Im sure more will be for sale, but they'll go fast. This is for a good cause. And one that I do not mind at all contributing too.

What? I thought things like this only happened in countries with socialised health care?

Your're welcome. It's a terrible thing when one cannot afford to pay for treatment, or medicine, even more so when its for a child.

What this child is doing is great. I feel that this should be a starting point for a sort of non-profit fund where children can submit drawings, which can be sold or auctioned in order to pay for any medical cost.

Honestly, I've always thought kids should get health issues taken care of.. no matter the cost. How can you makes little ones suffer for things or reasons they do not understand.

It's horrible to think that the lil ones hurt and they don't understand why, but they want it to stop. but because mommy and daddy aren't "rich" they have to continue hurting and being sick..

It's down right disgusting. I wouldn't mind paying taxes if it was doing something good, like paying the medical costs for the sick kids. Us adults can fend for ourselves tho.

yea yea.. i'm gonna get blasted for sounding like a socialist. which I'm against, but.. dammit kids don't deserve to suffer.

Off to buy a picture..
