Hey there ATS'ers, I was contemplating making this thread for a little while now and I figured I might as well go ahead. I didn't know exactly where to post it, so I thought the Gray Area might be best because I really don't know what to make of it. For all I know, it could just be some sort of anxiety disorder.

However, for the past month or so, no earlier than August, I have had this feeling looming over me that the "balloon was about to burst", if you will. I look at it this way - You are filling up a balloon with air, water, whatever. The substance you are filling the balloon with is really just information, or time leading up to something big. I have not a clue what it could be. I do, however, feel as though it is ready to pop. I would be lieing if I said that it did not make me anxious for whatever it is (IF anything is going to happen).

Honestly, I have to say that my gut feeling leads me to believe something like an extraterrestrial invasion, a very fatal natural disaster, or war is what the "water filling up the balloon" is leading to. I am not trying to claim it will happen for sure, I just have no idea...and that's the best I can make of it. Also, I know that the majority of people have a firm understanding that the world is boring and nothing exciting really ever happens. I understand that and at times I feel the same way, but I just thought I'd share this with you guys.

Please let me know what you make of it...Anyone else been feeling anything similar? Thanks in advance for any replies

edit: Actually, I forget what I was going to add in the edit

Huh? The world is boring?
No it isn't, it's filled with more amazing things than you could do and see in a lifetime!
If you find the world boring, I suggest it's you that's the problem
If you mean the world isn't a comic book or action movie, your right. But that's just the universe urging you to grow up and move on! ATS has been filled with posts like yours forever, things happen when they happen.
The old saying "be careful what you wish for...you might get it" is a wise one. I guarantee there will be enough
happening the rest of your life to keep it from being boring.

Well, I can attest to the same feeling. I have also been asking around and the feeling is wide spread. Is it just a common sense of paranoia? I dunno. I am a strong believer in the idea of a collective unconciousnes, so there may very well be something looming. Best that you can do is be prepared and live life as best as you can. No sense living in worry.

My first thought here, being the cynical and inquisitive person I happen to be, is to wonder why people would feel this way, in mass, at this point in history? In my opinion the reality of our circumstances, in the west, while difficult, are not dire or as uncomfortable as we tend to want to believe.

After all, we are all here, on fairly expensive machines, using technology which costs money to access, having this little discourse. We obviously aren't homeless and starving yet. We aren't residents of a modern Hooverville, so to speak.

So, who could benefit from this broad based anxiety, fear, and paranoia? Who has the power to procreate it and the ability to utilize it to and end? These are the things I ask myself.

My personal instincts are to think that we are being led into a situation where we will be easily manipulated into accepting things that we, up until recently, would not have dreamed of accepting. Maybe it's one world government. Maybe it's socialism. Maybe it's a more powerful government. Maybe it's about us putting our trust into even more powerful conglomerates and corporations. Who knows?

But, rest assured in this... We all know that when things are at their darkest and people are on the verge of losing hope - the hero always arrives to save the day and the hero is always met with cheers and open arms. Every movie we've ever seen teaches us this much.

So, while others worry about how things look and feel right now, my eyes watch the horizon because I want to see who the so-called hero is going to be. That is who scares me.

Maybe it is the slow and steady realization that all of these modern luxuries are just that..luxuries. The realization that everything we have and enjoy can and likely will be taken away from us with little to no recourse.

Perhaps you should take some time away from ATS. With all the gloom and doom, not to mention apocalyptic prophecies that flood websites like this one, anyone can feel like that at times.

100% agree with ya here bro....its the aftermath and the one thats gonna "fix" things that scares me the most too, cause in the end of the day most people will do anything to have their "lil" lives back with that "nice" sense of "security" that we all "love" isn't it?

Whoa i thought i was the only one with this feeling, i just keep waiting for this 'balloon to pop' i have been feeling it for a few months now too and i can't believe how many other people have the same feeling. I have barely been on ATS or paying attention to the news it's more like a natural instinct, like my 6th sense is kicking in, perhaps humans can sense things like animals?

Thank you everyone for the posts, really appreciate it

OldDragger, I understand what you're saying. I know the world isn't really a boring place, I enjoy many aspects of the Earth, but I was generally speaking in terms of disasters. I've heard people say, and in various ways I agree, that nothing exciting ever happens in the terms of extra terrestrials or meteors impacting the Earth (or in our time at least). I don't really want that to happen, but it breaks the same routine of our every day lives. Similar to the events on 9/11, again though, I never wish so many lives lost like that.

and lambs to lions, I had thought about that too...I never did rule out the possibility that ATS has made me more paranoid than my comfort zone can handle. Then again, who ever likes any paranoia

and kind of regarding everyone else who sort of feels the same way, when I feel the feeling with the balloon, I sometimes get the feeling that I was never alone. It was odd, and it might contribute to me thinking that there is a general amount of paranoia being radiated from a large number of people which leads me to BarmyBilly in regards to sensing things like animals. I want to say that it's a giant possibility that humans can, like animals, sense certain things...but who really knows.

Finally for now, epic post Hefficide. Epic.

Why is the universe and the world not the most amazing and positive thing in the world, it should be celebrated. Synchronicity can help you to attain self-actualisation. I do not belive that the culprit of such negativity is the devil or the media but the self.

Love will set you free

I pray the balloon was filled with gatorade.

But I suspect it may have been filled with acid.

I can also attest to this feeling. I also think that a great deal of people all over the world are also having this feeling. Its a feeling of waiting on something. I don't know if its because we are so innundated by the news everyday of doom and gloom or if it is really like a collective feeling that everyone is getting. You know like that feeling you get when someone walks up behind you and you can feel their presence without even looking. The only thing I can personally relate to this feeling is when I was a kid and my grandmother was dying of cancer. I felt like I was always on edge to get the dreaded news that she was gone. Same thing here but only on a global level.

A natural disaster would have to be really big to encompass the entire world with the "expectancy" that I am feeling. Even if millions die on one side of the Planet the rest will just carry on in their day-to-day realities.

So I really feel it is Money! Money markets will bust out and everyone will wake up to "nothing" in less time than it takes to pull up a new pair of knickers. Then the World will realize the mess and the dilemma that befalls us all; that we are all slaves to our System.

What happens after is a nightmare of course and a blessing depending on where we have put our focus up to now. Some have been feeling this coming for a long time and unless it is something Gigantic in proportions than it is not what I am feeling.

Nothing in our lives is unimportant but what is important is where we were being directed and how we all have been preparing. If you are one of the lucky ones to have not noticed then I dare say that your "innocence" is your Grace! Let's hope we can hold onto at least a small bit of our innocence over the next few years, we will need it for the future.

I can identify with your feelings. For me it's a vague sense that someone has pushed the pause button or that everything is caught in a holding pattern or even that I'm metaphorically holding my breath.

Is it intuition or mass manipulation?

Then again It's probably like 'lambs to lions' says and I've just been spending too much time here

Edit: Just read Starseed32's post and it's really on the button - describes what I'm feeling to a tee
