Following a marathon day of debates and the extended wait for a recorded vote, the Senate Bill (S. 3729) has been passed by lawmakers by a ratio of 3 to 1.

“Passage of this bill represents an important step forward towards helping us achieve key goals the President has laid out. If passed, the bill would help put the U.S. space program on a more sustainable trajectory and inspire a new generation of Americans to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This important change in direction will not only help us chart a new path in space, but can help us retool for the industries and jobs of the future that will be vital for long term economic growth.

The HLV – to be ready to launch by 2016 – will initially provide a backup to commercial fleet, prior to a leading role as the NASA vehicle for Beyond Earth Orbit (BEO) exploration.

Well, congrats to NASA!

This bill was widely supported in spaceflight community a a change in the right direction. Constellation program was heavily underfunded and delayed, and it was clear for the past year or two that a new vision is needed. What does this vision look like?

- development of a new heavy lift launch vehicle for deep space missions - This vehicle will be capable of launching 70 - 110 tons into low Earth orbit. It is the biggest rocket since Saturn V used in Apollo programs to put a man on the Moon. The rocket will be shuttle-derived, utilising many technologies and facilities we currently have - thus bringing down cost and accelerating development. It should be ready to launch by 2016.

- support of commercial launch providers for access to low Earth orbit - outsourcing routine cargo and crew transport to new commercial companies like SpaceX, Orbital Sciences and SpaceDev will hopefully bring down cost and free NASA to do what it does best - explore the frontier

- extend the International space station beyond 2020, probably beyond 2028, if there are no technological hurdles. The ISS is the only real asset we currently have, and it would be foolish to discard something we have been building for the past 12 years too soon.

- develop new promising technologies - including propellant depots and high ISP engines like VASIMR - this should significantly improve our ability to do deep space mission beyond low Earth orbit, to explore the Moon or near-Earth asteroids.

You want a reply. Sure thing! You will get one from me, but not to your liking though.

Tell the morons in Congress to take that bill and shove it up where their body part sees no sunlight!

In view of the current situations from 1947 till today, based upon sworn testimonials and deathbed confessions of many whom had worked with extra-terresterial materials, US possesses the technology to go to Mars and back this very minute with little or almost no cost.

Yet the rubber stamping officials approved billion dollar budgets to research and develope such techs that exists. Isn't this extreme stupidity at best??!!! And guess who are the suckers who have to pay for it all?

Tell the morons in Congress to SCREW IT with that bill!!! They can and had screwed with current generations, but LEAVE THE NEXT TAXPAYING GENERATIONS ALONE!!!

And while at it, tell NASA TO SCREW IT AS WELL! The Nazi von braun led organisation had hoodwinked entire generations, ex and current workers that believed in the space programme dream, as well as humanity for years with their deceptions and lies as UFOs hovered over and shut down national protection systems. SCREW NASA, SCREW THE BILL AND SCREW US, BUT LEAVE THE NEXT TAXPAYING GENERATIONS ALONE!!!!

Edit to add:- I would rather the billions be spent to BREAK THE HEADS OF OUR MASTERS AND PUPPETS to make them confess to what had happened and for the truth of extra-terresterials' intentions.

Well, contrary to the post above, I think this is a step in the right direction. Until the info in the above post can be confirmed, then we need to proceed as if it is not real.

S and F- Nice find
