Kaku comments on the core hypothesis whereby 5% of UFO sightings could represent life from somewhere else. He backs Leslie Kean's book as a great place to start reading about that magical '5%'

In a private conversation, Kaku has commented that he thinks the ETH is a probable explanation for some reports. That's quite a statement!

Very interesting indeed, and I am really a bit surprised that Michio Kaku comes forward with such remarks in public now, quite remarkable and important in my opinion.

I admire him as a man in his position for doing that.

Thanks for sharing this Kandinsky.
S&F of course.

That’s about the book you did recommend to me lately in another thread is it not?

Yes, that's the same book. I'm impressed that Kaku backs the core hypothesis that a 'core' of sightings remain unidentified and suggestive of something more than ball lightning or Venus.

My perspective on UFOs swings like a pendulum as new information or opinions get absorbed. With people like Kaku and the guys at NARCAP (Leslie Kean is a member) putting their credible weight behind the subject, it helps me remain less doubtful.

u2u imminent.

My perspective on UFOs/UAPs is already steady as a rock, despite all the new forwarded information or opinions.

I have no doubts whatsoever.

It is the reports from pilots and military peeps, I have always found most interesting. These people are paid and trained to identify the sky and whats in it and should have a better idea than most what constitutes a UFO.

Hiya Raja, I'm waiting to borrow the book from a cousin. It's highly recommended and the reviews have been very good. Mr Oberg isn't very impressed, but I suspect there might be a personal element involved...

I know Space, but that can lead you open to the Sgt Stones of this world. Each to their own based on the information. I have a provisional position that accepts the existence of UFOs, speculates on the origins and keeps quiet about the rest.

I think I'd surprise you with some aspects of my speculation.

No Kandinsky, to be honest, you did not surprised me with some aspects of your speculation.
I only respect them.

Hey Kandinski, I have always considered you a serious skeptic so it's great to see you do a thread on UFO's. There are few skeptics here and it always fascinates me to know which cases genuinely capture your thoughts.

Flags and all!

S&F Friend

Yeah, I dont doubt for a second that a small % of UFOs that we see in the night sky arent ours.

I've done a few on UFOs and one on possibly hostile *visitors.* I'm sceptically-minded (English) and have recently begun to move away from 'skeptic' due to the associations with 'dark skeptics' or 'hostile skeptics.'

There are lots of genuinely intriguing cases. Colares 1977, the Hudson Valley UFO flap, Belgium Triangle etc and the lesser known cases just add more interest. If you look at the statements from INTERNATIONAL PRESS CONFERENCE, NATIONAL PRESS CLUB, WASHINGTON D.C. November 12, 2007 there's some credible people and verified incidents.

Further afield than most people ever look, we have NARCAP cataloguing and analysing pilot UAP sightings. This report about a Brazilian pilot's encounter with something is pretty cool...NARCAP: Project Sphere

I just like my UFOs served with a strong dose of credibility! A good site with a collection of VERY credible links and articles is www.hyper.net...
