I stumbled across these google earth images that show lines and patterns very similar to the Nazca lines but these are located in Utah.

They are pretty interesting and there are quite a few of them. I am going to post the most interesting ones and you can follow the link to check out the rest of them if you are intrigued.

Ancient 6 line pattern very evident and seemingly unaffected by time. This pattern shares the same dimensions of the many others but is clear enough to also show what I call a leader line from the end of the lines on one side. There are several of these patterns separated by the same distance apart and same length of cross lines that make up a much larger pattern.

These two patterns represent or are similiar to many other 6 line patterns found in South Eastern Utah however these are significant because they have the main line through their middle area and the main line goes for several thousand feet very straight. Notice the modern dirt road above the patterns. A well known archaeologist had noticed very long lines of ancient origin in the area. These patterns were discovered after his discovery and they represent a very unusual form compared to the many other six line patterns currently being observed in the area.

A rare ground glyph found in a remote area of Utah showing great skill by whom ever made it. Measuring 470 in diameter makes it totally impossible to observe from the ground level. Think about what it would take to create such a huge pattern.

Hexagons about 320 ft across on a main line and each one 970 ft apart.

Similarities have also been noted between ancient petroglyphs and the ancient geoglyphs. Images seen below are of the Parowan Gap petroglyphs site in Utah

I don't really know what to make of these formations. They seem to be a lot more common than I thought judging by the numerous locations where patterns like these can be found.

These formations are also said to be close to some of the Mima Mounds that can be found all over the world. Here is a thread about the mounds if you have not heard of them.

Can anyone shed some light on these formations?

Hi TV_Nation,

Thanks for both the thread and the links. Some of the comments in the Google Earth link seem plausible - especially regarding crop growing (the six lines?

Peace!

Are we sure these are ancient in origin? Do we have a link?

The straight line looking ones look similar to subdivisions that have been started and stopped for whatever reason. Like they just got to the roadbed stage and ran out of money.

The hexagon looks like a pattern I've seen made in fields by irrigation equipment.

The clover shaped thing? Maybe a crazy farmer. There used to be a guy near my grandparents' place that did a smiley face in his field every year.

There really is no info that I could find on where these originated from.

The thing that makes me think it is not farmers is that some of these formations are placed in remote places that are hard to even reach from the ground so It kinda makes me think it was not a subdivision or made by farmers.

The area does not seem very hospitable to farming and judging by some of their locations it would be a nightmare to get water/equipment out to the sites.

I agree they are most likely man made tho.
