America's Underclass: The Growing Gap Between the Rich and Poor

finance.yahoo.com

Macro economic data suggest the great recession is over. But the gap between the haves and the have-nots is growing, thanks, in large part, to a jobless recovery. Wall Street Cheat Sheet’s Damien Hoffman says the growing underclass now accounts for about 10% of the U.S. population.

The 'great recession' is over eh? These crooks never cease blathering out their propaganda.

Anybody with half a brain in their head or a set of functioning senses enough to percieve what is going on in the world around them can see what is actually taking place.

No surprise here at the thread title...When you have the ruling class controlling the gov and using them as their personal racketeers to rape the populace over and over through their fraudulent schemes and 'bailouts', the ONLY conclusion is more at the top of the food chain gutting the rest underneath them.

And it has never been so prevelant and obvious than in these modern times.

Disgusting.

The last thing that comes to mind is with all the corruption charges coming from everywhere you don't see anything going but government pony shows for the entertainment of the masses.

The fat rats created the economic crisis, crash the global economy so now we get more junkies market addicts to invest back into the US and the dollar that was not looking very pretty before the economic crash, now with the downfall of the EU corporate profits for the US are to soar.

Meanwhile the richer gets richer and the poor, well the poor they are to get free Medicaid with the HCR at the expenses of what ever is left of those that hold a meaningful job.

Welcome to America the land of opportunity if you are in the top ten in the nation.

What do you expect? Capitalism has run amok. Wallstreet is out of control. Our entire pillars of responsibility and accountability have been bypassed and otherwise ignored. It's both the government and the private coporations who are responsible. In fact it's safe to say we have never had a free market. We have state corporatism where the giant corporations and the government feed off of each other.....damn the people and small businesses.

Capitalism is a free and open system......but with freedom comes responsibility and INDIVIDUAL as well as COLLECTIVE accountability. This does not happen. Look at all the bailouts. There are absolutely no consequences for some of these greedy assholes in the financial economy. They rob and plunder and pillage and speculate and otherwise steal from people. If you have a gun and rob someone in the street and take their money you go to jail. But when you are a wallstreet trader and speculator and you rob people of their money through fancy creative accounting and speculation you are looked upon with admiration and respect.

In my opinion because of our "net worth" and money obsessed culture we as Americans deserve everything that is happening to us. we idolize money and making it at all costs. I mean look at the Goldman Sachs CEO sitting there on CNN being interviewed. He point blank said he deserves to make $68 million a year because he "deserves" it.

This article is right.......the great recession is over.........We are headed for the Great Depression II!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because of how money is created in our system i.e. by the private banks in the Federal reserve it doesn't matter who runs for any political position. The Fed must be destroyed and in the least audited with full transparency. But it will never happen because if it did........the game would be up and the public would know full well the banking deception that is plaguing our nation.

Mayer Rothschild......"Give me control of a nation's money supply and I care not who makes its laws". ...........Truer words have never been spoken in America.

For anything to change there is going to have to be a collective shift in our priorities as a nation. We have to change our mindset.......the entire way we view money, success, and prosperity. But that is a long term goal. Right now we need to kick the incumbent bums out of government. We need people like Ron Paul in there. People that are willing to make a stand against banks and banking. Politicians that can embrace the likes of Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson when it comes to banking. If we don't change our banking system NOTHING will ever change. Presidents and politicians are just puppets of the bankers.

There is something very wrong with American government when 44% of Congress are millionaires. That is not a government of the people by the people. These pukes in Washington should have 4-8 year term limits. This career politican bull# needs to end. If you can do anything in 4-8 years you're DONE GET OUT let someone else try. When you have families like the Bushes and Kennedys having generation after generation involved in politics and government you are going to get the results we now have. It's disgusting that a Senator like Ted Kennedy (good riddance!) can spend the better part of his adult life in American politics. It's akin to a monarchy with even more dire consequences.

The other thing about American politics that needs to change is this partisan crap. Democrats and Republicans are fighting so much amongst each other they can't even get anything done. It has to stop. They need to stop acting like teenage girls and start acting like adults learning to cooperate instead of compete. And finally, the lobbying and special interests needs to stop. When you have representatives and senators being outnumber by lobbyists 1000:1 there is something absolutely wrong with our system of government.

You can't destroy America without destroying Americas upper class. That won't even happen until we have over 65% tax and gas for over $5 dollars a gallon.

The ultimate goal is to have 100% of the laws of the english commonwealth, which right now has been adopted by 80% of the world, the destruction of capitalism should make up for the remaining 20% and alas the rise of one world government.

What can you do?

Capitalism was founded through the industrialization and mass production of hemp. However capitalism has been under atttack from the day it has been brought into existance and we are still being suffocated with debt as the founding fathers found themselves over 200 years ago. The revolution is still being fought today.

Got any better ideas?

Did anyone else find the title more than a tad ironic ? -

"Hoffman brothers: US is building a Strong Underclass"

Maybe next week it will be "Enfeebled by Overprivelege"?

Damn Semantics!

Disgusting indeed.

Hey DD, have you ever read The Creature From Jekyll Island?

Chapter 2 is titled, "The Name of the Game is Bailouts." It was written in 1994.

The more things change, the more they stay the same

Hello my brother.

I have never read that, but it looks like it had its finger on the pulse.

The entire banking and monetary system is, and always has been an absolute SHAM.

The folks behind the monetary system have NOTHING of actual value to back up these wortthless "I.O.U" notes that they have suckered everyone into having faith in, and they have used this system to debt-fraud the masses into serfdom.

We need to go back to trading things of actual value and bartering services, and ditch this fraudulent system altogether.

Am I the only person who sees how this is happening?

In the last 30 years, the republicans have continued to strip every safety net from consumers and workers. In addition, changing the game shifting safe pension savings to what we have today which is putting your money in a rigged casino called wall street.

Now, I'm not saying that all work should be unionized as that would make our work force very immobile. But there has to be a balance here and from what I see, we have swung way too far to the right when it comes to employment and caring for our own.

There's another reason, too. In the old days, when Amerika was free, grandpa and grandma could work at a Union job and also start a small business in their spare time, and gain independence.

But with the control-freak over-regulation of everything, almost everything you dream of doing requires a permit or is forbidden. If you manage to jump through all the hoops, then the sue-me nation bankrupts you.

Add to that a draconian legal system that never ever forgives and forgets (if you're an average Joe, ya know), and you have a climate where no one can ever rise.

We need Freedom.
