President Barack Obama offered a bit of wisdom to a ballroom filled with celebrities, political insiders and journalists: There are a few things in life harder to find and more important to keep than love. "Well, love and a birth certificate," he quipped at Saturday's black-tie White House Correspondents' Association dinner, poking fun at the so-called birther movement, which questions whether the president was born in the United States.

You know that they tell you that these power brokers love to admit the truth while laughing in your face... While these elites are having a great time telling jokes about socialism, and the Presidential Success story of a foriegn Invader of Muslim Origin who infiltrated the infrastructure of America the Infidel's Political Institution and achieved a victory against the Enemies of Islam while rubbing it in their faces about how he is so pleased to know that his ratings were still high in the Country of his birth... Thats the presidents main job, to blow up babies isn't it.

If he is so great get him to buy a football team and see how many big trophies he wins with them without american mind control. I doubt he would win many.

I'm glad he isn't taking this nonsense seriously, and can still laugh at the political rumor mill from the far-right that is fueling these unsubstantiated claims eaten up by the gullible and the ignorant as having a kernel of truth to them.

Bush also used humor to disarm rumors and criticism when the left came at him.

I always thought that was a good move, and much wiser than continuously acknowledging the rumors exist in a more serious manner and thus seeming to add validity to them or prolong their unfortunate lifespan.

It's either joke or walk around with your long-form pinned to your suit for every nut that refuses to accept the documents that the U.S. government and the State of Hawaii have already acknowledged are authentic.

Even weirder are the bizarre claims that you are a pawn of the Devil if you used the phrase common phrase "Yes We Can" because when reversed they subjectively hear "Thank You Satan".

Wait...did I just thank Satan too?

Oh dear...how often have I used that simple phrase with flagrant disregard and paid worship to the devil?!

Sour grapes masquerading as honest concern shouldn't be indulged to infinity before you inevitably come to the conclusion that you are talking to one of the brick walls of the very large building called "denial".

I wouldn't want to enable a psychosis.

He's gotta address the elephant in the room and this is the best way to do it. Lets people know that he's acknowledging that he's having problems but he wont let it phase him.

I liked Bush' jokes too....when they do the roast type thing on themselves, I've always liked that.

I remember Bush doing the same thing. I'm not a 'birther' but I think it very tasteless for presidents to mock citizens who have views they don't approve of.

And I agree with other, it's almost like telling the truth while laughing in the faces of your accusers. Just like with Bush, it actually does the opposite and has made me actually wonder about his actual status as a US citizen.

ALMOST reminds me of OJ's "If I did it" book. Not classy at all.

What really matters is that people realize that he is a PUPPET! Attacking him or his individual credibility as a president is useless, and the questions people present about his birth are distractions. He could be from Pluto, and it wouldn't change the outcome of his election or his policies. His policies are not really his, but belong to those with a bigger agenda.

Man,that line was played out over a year ago. Then you make the jump over the Grand Canyon that because people don't buy the birther crap, that they are "Worshipping" the Great One or whatever other silly names you can dream up.

Because mocking someone liking your opponent is such a mature way to handle things. Like a bunch of high school girls cursing the popular girl behind her back and making rumors that she had a nose or boob job.


So you get my un-originality award for a one liner, being a year late, and not providing anything that could be possibly construed as constructive.

I think Bush is the worst president that ever existed. He brought down this country, and made a mockery of it.

But I am also an adult and don't resort to silly tactics such as name calling. I don't even call Bush Sr; Papa Bush.

But then what do I expect from GOP, since Bush was known for giving everyone nicknames. Even calling Rove Turd Blossom. How stellar.

So I guess if even their president acts like that, I shouldn't expect better.

Obama is only a puppet of the puppetmasters. He may appear to rule the country, but most realize he doesn't. Same with Harper, this side of the fence. Why follow him, or let his reactions anger you - it's a waste of time. I wish people would look into the issues over the personalities, and exist non plussed by the rigamarole the politicians portray, who are trained in all manner of rhetoric, posing, and are backed by words written by professional speech-writers, and spend their weekends studying the means to obfuscate between hidden policy and public disclosure.

You are dealing with a polished professional who no longer deserves your time - your time - a valuable commodity that the elite like to plunge away from you by a public display that will never permit true disclosure. All you can hope for is the closest portrayal, since even talking with the man will not be anything more than the PR image they want to express to you, without remorse. Let's get back to Romes divide and conquer, arithmetic sciences of control, and understand our places from their perspectives in a very keen perspective, and perhaps learn a lesson from us Canadians, who already know our politicians are talking mouths and live , have always lived, our lives irregardless of their parasitic slurpings on our lives.

Federal politicians are truly nothing to get worked up over. In fact, they're most forgetable. Look at the agenda, not the masks.

I don't care for many of his viewpoints...well nearly all of them. But, he was damn funny. He could be a professional comedian. It's almost as if he's had acting classes...a lot of them. Hmmm...seems like the most logical skill to develop to become a leader in a land that's lost it's values.

I know it's not PC to laugh at nutcases, but face it man; one or the signs of being crazy is not realizing YOU are crazy, but thinking everyone else is!!
Nobody is obligated to take idiotic "birther" arguments seriously.
We have the capacity of judgement, and I, like the vast majority of citizens judge the whole thing to be, well, JUST STUPID!
You may be sincere, but you are sincerly wrong.
What's worse tha being wrong? Being totally and completelt irrelevant.

making jokes and mocking and belittling others with different viewpoints is a sure way to make that happen.

if Barack Obama loses in 2012, it still wont matter. political parties and preferences don't matter, because the future has already been decided upon by people who deem themselves to be the hierarchy of society.
Hes rich, protected for life, and got the chance to give black people hope about the future.

If I remember correctly, last year Obama joked that he'd been born on Krypton and his father was Jor-El. He also said, "Barack is actually Swahili for 'that one'", recalling McCain's reference to him in a debate. He was FUNNY!

It's a free country. Let the man laugh all he wants. We'll see who's laughing after November this year.

Actually I'll be the first to point and laugh at President "Let's make fun of everyone who disagrees with me" when I see him sweating beads at November's election results.

I'll be the first to laugh at the media who will certainly retaliate that America was "brainwashed" by the GOP, a party that right now stands in shambles and has no real steam of its own.

And I'll be the first to point and laugh at all of you who laugh with Obama as I read your posts on how unfair the elections were and how Rush poisoned the minds of the American people.
