Spaceflight's past and future

Space enthusiasts are celebrating nearly five decades of human spaceflight - and anxiously awaiting word on what will happen in the decade ahead.

The celebration reaches its peak on Monday - which happens to be the 49th anniversary of the first human flight into outer space, made by Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, as well as the 29th anniversary of the first space shuttle launch. Back in 2001, spaceflight fans began organizing "Yuri's Night" parties to mark the occasion.

For the 10th annual Yuri's Night, 188 parties (and counting) have been organized in 63 countries on all seven of the world's continents. Yes, that includes the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in Antarctica ... and probably someplace close to where you live as well.

Not all of the parties are on Monday night. Nineteen of them are happening tonight, and some of the big ones are coming up on Saturday. You don't even have to dress up to go out: For the first time ever, Yuri's Night is putting on a global Webcast from 2 p.m. ET Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday, courtesy of Spacevidcast.

Still remember it was Russia who did it first, what is not happening at present in our our space program is sad, more then likely someone else will get to Mars before we do.

Obama just made a major cut on our manned space program too he is really making me mad!

It would be cool if Russia could score another 1st in space next year (April 09, 2011 - on the 50th anniversary of their 1st man in space), by making a very public launch of the world's 1st 'true' anti-gravity spaceship.

Hopefully... it would be the classic saucer-disk shaped, and not the ugly triangle shaped.

A crater on the far side of the Moon is named for Yuri Gagarin.

Yuri Gagarin was born near Moscow, Russia on March 9, 1934. He died on March 27, 1968. Yuri joined the Soviet Air Force in 1955. By 1959, he was training to become a cosmonaut.

On April 12, 1961 Yuri Gagarin became the first human to orbit Earth! The name of his spacecraft was Vostok 1. Vostok 1 had two sections. One section was for Yuri. The second section was for supplies needed for Gagarin to live such as oxygen and water.

Vostok 1 circled Earth at a speed of 27,400 kilometers per hour. The flight lasted 108 minutes. Vostok's reentry was controlled by a computer. Yuri Gagarin did not land inside of Vostok 1. He ejected from the spacecraft and landed by parachute.

Yuri Gagarin was killed in a plane crash before he could travel in space a second time.

Obama has to know that Germany went to the Moon in the 40s and
that we can't do it now.
Russian knows as well.
We all have the technology but it can't be used.

If that is the case and I do believe that it is possible that they did, why can't the technology be used today, or is it being used covertly?

The biggest problem I see, which holds generally for other situations as well, is what is being done in space that they aren't telling us about.

I take the "whistleblower" reports seriously because I know what they say is possible. But I don't know if any of their stories are true.

In any case, until we can venture out there without seeing it as just another theater of war, we don't belong there. We have more important situations to handle right here on Earth. If those situations continue to go unhandled they could cripple us as a civilization.

If our areas of gross ignorance can somehow be overcome, space will take on a whole new significance because spiritual beings can go anywhere they want. Thus, just finding out what's out there would no longer be the huge problem it is seen as today.

So....

Giving billions and billions to bail out banks is OK.

Keeping the space program, where we see a return in technological advancement, well funded is not.

Either there truly are things going on we don't know about, or Obama truly is a killjoy.

Not sure giving billions and billions to bail out banks is ok, which btw most has been paid back...has anything to do with it, more then likely the general economy, once that stabilized hopefully funding for space exploration will be given..

The technology that was started to be developed by Germany must
have had promise or the saucer would not have been developed from
the Foo in the New Mexico area.

Also the 1940 Death Ray technology announced by Tesla was of no
concern until America discovered Germany was developing technology
from Tesla. Tesla's fancy gas lights to wireless power to flying machine
that agitates the air around the ship to shine brightly to any type
of focused ray is all the same technology. I'm sure by now its
all been figured out.

That all may establish the where and how.

The technology may be used now or developed in certain areas.
There has to be quite a lot.
The sub electric generator must exist.
Using miles of wire may not be cost effective.
All the various Tesla power generators must exist.
However industry is monitored and when a company attempts
to make any I feel the agents prevent the undertaking.
The Papp engine is not from Tesla so even more is available.

There apparently is no way to displace current technology.
The air ship might displace ships and aircraft but would an oil
cargo explode.
Miles of wire for a sub engine operation of small stature seemed useful
to Germany at the time but not now perhaps.
One energy source has never been disclosed but announced by Tesla.
Was it cosmic like radiant energy so everyone can have a simple
energy source.

So far the supposed Tesla technology has suspiciously created unknown
flying ships and perhaps costly and dangerous devices.
Also these devices have little information available except from official
sources and any attempt at construction is blocked by agents.
A shipment of generators got off to Korea before being blocked.
Anyone hear about that.
The Papp engine exploded once and so did a Dr. Moray 50KW isotope
current generator.

ED: Well there are people that think of such a thing as a DEW.
Now where did that idea come from. And I can't think of any other
technology that would be effective than the force at a distance
ray of Tesla. But do they mention Tesla. The 911 DEW attack
perhaps might have demolished the towers. And a platform
like the hard to find Tesla aircraft might send off the DEW.
I suppose used covertly might apply in that case, its been 60 years
of development from Foo to Triangle.

ED: Obama is going after Wall Street. Without paper gimmicks how
will financial powers survive. I think we have the reason why the
Government Office of Scientology Information suppresses financial
development and why and why there information might be lies
at times because of their need not to tell the truth.
Did it all start with JP Morgan and Tesla. Tesla was denied funding
and after 1912 when one source of funding in John Astor died in
the Titanic disaster sold technology to Germany starting in 1914
before WWI. One reason for the German development.
Obama was sent a letter indicating a flight technology should be
developed but did not mention Tesla.
