Personally I don't see why anyone should have had to pull out regulations and articles stating protocol for the national anthem and the pledge of allegiance. It's just respect for all those that fell to create the country that we have today. As the President of this country, whether he was president at the time or not, I would think that he would pay more attention not only because he was running for the presidency but because theres a war going on, and whether you agree with it or not theres people giving their lives over here for Americas freedoms. However, I'm not here to bash the president, his approval ratings speak for themselves.

So what do you do when you are on a base and they play colors? Unless you are one of the people who jet for any door or building so you don't have to render honors. A flag is supposed to be saluted when uncased, that includes the national anthem.
