Dem Congressman On Health Bill: Insurance Companies Are "Holding Hostages"

infowars.net

A Democratic Congressman has stated that he will refuse to vote yes on the pending health care reform bill, declaring that the legislation represents a vastly bloated giveaway to insurance companies and big pharma.

Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-MA) asserts that the Senate bill bankrolls the very companies that president Obama says are taking advantage of the American people.

“We’ve paid the ransom, but at the end of the day the insurance companies are still holding the hostages,’’ Lynch said in an interview with The Boston Globe yesterday.

I think it is depressing that people actually believe they are wanting to pass this bill for the good of the people.

They are passing this bill for their buddies that got them into office, and more control over people.

Giving the government this much power is a disgrace, just like everything else they will abuse the power. They are already going towards it by using the criminal IRS group to enforce it.

Can anyone expand on why this is a give away for big pharma and big insurance companies? I agree but would like some explanation to argue with people with.

I know that this is a huge BOON to private banks i.e. the federal reserve because it will increase the government debt and any time you do that it benefits the private federal reserve. That is another reason why dems are for this. They are full of wallstreet bankers.

If you thought dealing with insurance companies was a hassle, just wait until you have to deal with the bloated bureacracy of the government.

Wow, I cannot wait until the govenment has total control of me and can tell me what doctor to see and what procedures I qualify for. And if I get out of line, they will send the IRS after me. Happy times ahead.

I rather deal with insurance companies than the government. We all know how well and efficient the government runs things right?

Thanks you bunch of stupid sheep & losers who are for this crap and want to impose it on me.

Exactly, all alone this been the biggest bailout for the private insurance business with government law blessing.

The biggest give away was the "mandate" the second give away was the way that the previous bills were written the penalties and fees along with the "mandate" came from the private insurance companies.

People were lie too giving the false sense that it was socialism so everybody will fight the public option that was to compete with the private insurance, all along is nothing but forcing free citizens to buy private insurance by law.

This nations government is not longer for the people, we have a corporate run government that is gouging, lying and robbing this nations citizens for corporate profits while selling our childrens freedom and legacy to foreign interest.

That is what people doesn't understand and can not digest.

It's amazing to me. Everyone screams about government takeover of healthcare but yet COMPLETELY IGNORE and refuse to criticize the health insurance industry and big pharma which have already cut deals with obama LONG AGO.

It's just easier for most of you to blame government as the only one's at fault...instead of the beasts of the health industry...because then you would be speaking against private business....and we can't have that now can we?

The health care industry LOBBIED for this bill.

How long are many of you going to continue to ignore it?

The industry has been getting hammerd on other threads. We still must get around at some point to the overfeed health care industry itself.............but in the meantime a congressman said to day just a little whiel ago that Ted Kennedy was looking down...but that is not possible.

The only real reform that will work is to repeal the anti-trust law that give insurance companies carte' blanche on premiums in the states they are allowed to sell in. If they had to compete with all insurance companies in all states they would have to adhere to the market and not inflate it to their benefit!

Not surprising when most think of it as a freebie.

IMO, this bill does nothing to address the high costs of healthcare.

Hey, but its free healthcare.

Try to tell that to a child.

Hey, but you don't know if the parent is jobless and not lazy at all.

A child starts to cry for hunger, do you leave the child home and go find a job for health care? You might get upset if someone offers free food to feed a hungry and possibly sick child.

Many people don't want free hand-outs. They just don't want others to be overly selfish about health care.

Yep the Freedom movement has been hijacked. NO to government spending, backed by corporate news. YES to health care backed by corporate news. Meanwhile, corporations are taking all the money from the government they can get. They Yell...more money for ME! Give Me, Give me, Give me...I will create jobs.

Yep, let's play the child card.

You ever hear of the CHIP program, medicaid and charitable contributions to help children.

Let's make it even more simple, if government was so concerned about insurance for children, every child would have been covered a long time ago and I seriously doubt any adult American would have a problem picking up the tab for that.

So people are suppose to lose their job in order to get medicaid because their job didn't cover them with health insurance? Wow!

Aren't we suppose to get hired by companies that offer health insurance plans? Do all companies that hire people offer such plans?

I would start to wonder if the companies that have offered such plans are the ones mainly against such a health care bill. They are the only one's that would lose out on the plans they already have while other actually get covered.

"Hey Fred, did you get the job?"

"No Earn, they wouldn't hire me because I already have health insurance."

You seem to like reading into things that are not there.

You brought up the children, not me. In response I mentioned CHIPS etc.

My freebie comment is based on the premises that many believe that this is going to cost them a lot less. They view it as an entitlement. It will cost us money and the fact that medicaid, medicare, and social security is headed into trouble makes it hard to believe that this program will be more successful than the ones that are already in trouble.

Now ask yourself why WALMART, one of the richest companies in America, doesn't cover all of its employees? Why should it take an act of Congress to do what is morally correct?

And when Congress does force a company to provide insurance, how does that effect the business?

Quit trying to twist my posts into something I didn't say. It is obvious you want this bill and it is obvious I don't.

We both agree on the need for healthcare reform, we just don't agree on this bill.

S&F. Good catch.

RE:

insurance companies and big pharma

Western "allopathic" medicine evolved symbiotically along with big pharma and big insurance.

Doctors don't even know how to doctor any more - everything they do relies on info from big pharma and the framework created by insurance terms.

Well, if they say so.

Nevermind that, like gas companies, allowed only to profit at 3%, the government has mandated a certain percentage profit for the company (I believe it's 5%), taxes it heavily, and then does press releases saying they're ripping us off.

To give an example, pretend a company is charging $20 for something that costs them $15. They're making a 33% profit. The government says they can only have a 17% profit and passes a law stating such. So the company starts charging, naturally, $18. Then the government hits them with a 50% tax. Suddenly, the cost has gone up to $27. Naturally, some politician who wants power blames the company, even though they hiked the price nearly 50%.

But hey, we often blame rape victims for dressing sensually or for coming on to some guy, so, by that morality, yeah, we should blame the insurance companies.
